Kyoto is mostly flat and a great city to get around by bike. We'll see zen gardens, local temples, picturesque back streets, eat Japanese sweets and cycle along the beautiful Kamo River. This is your chance to see a side of Kyoto that is often missed by visitors. It is always an option for you to alter or extend the itineraries to incorporate the place you wish to go.

“Thank you very much!”
Takaaki was very communicative and open to many requests. He also did an excellent job with the tour!
“Great tour of Kyoto highlights!”
We had a terrific 6 hour tour with Takaaki. He was super warm and friendly and very kind and informative. He met us at Kyoto station and then took us to the very popular Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, filling our visit there with informative color. We then all had a nice lunch in a cozy neighborhood restaurant of soba/udon and sushi. After that, he made our son really happy by taking us to the Arashiyama Monkey Park, where we were able to feed apples and peanuts to baby monkeys. Then he took us to Nijo Castle and told us all about its history and unique characteristics. To finish, he brought us to Gion. While it was a super hot day, he kept us hydrated and even helped us find shaved ice. We thoroughly enjoyed our day with him and would definitely recommend him to others.

(2 reviews)Thanks, Karen! I enjoyed guiding you and your family around Kyoto. We had a good laugh at the monkey park seeing the evil big monkey snatching food that was meant for a baby monkey :) You all managed the extreme hot weather well. Next time you are around Kyoyo, I will help you explore kyoto deeper!
