Beloved by locals for its lion-dance during festivals, this shrine elicits oohs-and-ahs with its impressive lion hall/stage. The eyes actually light up and there are speakers inside its nose, which are turned on during special events. Visit during the annual summer festival (July 13–14) to enjoy the lively matsuri atmosphere and look for the festival boats and their beautiful lanterns as they maneuver through the Dotonbori Canal. The shrine office sells a beautiful goshuin (official seal/stamp) book, which can be purchased during business hours.
We will visit which is called 'Osaka's kitchen' fish market close to Namba.
Paris was chosen as the model for Shinsekai's northern half, while the southern portion was built to imitate Coney Island in New York. Tsutenkaku Tower was constructed in 1912 after Paris' Eiffel Tower. Although it was scrapped during WWII, the tower was reconstructed soon afterwards in 1956. The current tower is 103 meters high, with the main observatory at a height of 91 meters. In addition, the tower offers an open-air deck on top of the main observatory and a 60 meter long slide at the base of the tower.
Another noted attraction is kushikatsu, one of Osaka's best known specialties. It is a dish composed of various skewered, battered and deep fried foods. Varieties on offer range from chicken and beef, to pumpkin and asparagus, to the banana and ice cream dessert varieties. Many of Shinsekai's kushikatsu restaurants are open 24 hours, but only truly come alive when the lights come on at night.
Isshin-ji is said to have been founded in 1185 by Hōnen. Tokugawa Ieyasu camped at the compound in 1614–15 during the Siege of Osaka Castle and became a patron of the temple after his victory. Kobori Enshū designed the temple's tea room or chashitsu in this period called Yatsu-mado no seki. The popular Kabuki actor Ichikawa Danjūrō VIII was buried in the grounds in 1854 and from that time large numbers of urns were deposited there. By the mid-1880s there were over fifty thousand and, in part due to limitations of space, in 1887 the head priest commissioned sculptors skilled in casting to create a statue of Amida, combining the ashes with resin. Bombing during the Pacific War destroyed the temple and the six statues completed by then.
Shitennoji is the oldest state-sponsored Buddhist temple in Japan, having been founded in 593 by Prince Shotoku, the revered early champion of Buddhism. The temple complex has been rebuilt several times over the centuries, enduring as a spiritual refuge for the people of Osaka.
Most of the current structures date from after World War II, recreating the original designs as closely as possible based on archaeological research. The complex also includes several buildings that have stood for centuries and are now Important Cultural Properties.
It is used to be the tallest commercialize building in Japan. There is observatory on 16th floor and top of the building on 60th floor.
We will go up to 16th flood to feel the breeze of Osaka city air.
