What to Expect

You will feel refreshed and relaxed by viewing beautiful Bonsai trees at a quiet and peaceful area.

I will tell you how to appreciate Bonsai and traditional Japanese culture.

Bonsai should be viewed as a natural landscape.

You can create your own Bonsai world in your mind.

When you are appreciating Bonsai, your soul can roam in your own ideal nature. For example, an authentic Bonsai inspires you to visualize the scene in which you are standing or sitting under the tree and you might feel a pleasant breeze or a delightful morning sunshine. The museum has more than 100 pots of masterpieces, which are from 45- year-old ginko tree to 1000-year-old Yezo spruce and they select about 60 pots to display according to season. So you can see the most beautiful Bonsai trees there.

At the Railway Museum, we, even adults can get excited and eager to see many kinds of real Shinkansen running just in front of us through the big windows.

In addtion, they have lots of trains ranging from steam locomotives to the latest ones at a rolling stock station, the largest railway diorama in Japan and many train-driving simulators.

About lunch:

What kind of dish would you like to try?

You can have tasty soba, buckwheat noodles at a Japanese restaurant near Bonsai village and you can also have excellent Western dishes at a restaurant like a dining car in the Railway Museum.

Let's have a wonderful day with Michiko!

A Wonderful Experience!

We spent two days with Michiko in Kamakura and Nikko. She did a fantastic job of organizing our time and sharing her knowledge and love of these beautiful places! It was a pleasure to work with Michiko.

Very Efficient and Friendly

Michiko met us promptly at the start of our tour and showed the schedule and said she is very flexible and can move things around. This actually happened because of bad weather conditions and with our approval, she suggested changes that reversed the morning itinerary with the evening. It was a long and busy day and crammed with activities as per my suggestions and Michiko kept us on track and allowed a lot of time for us to enjoy each site. Though English is not her native language, we were able to communicate with her fairly effectively. I would definitely use her services the next time I am in Japan.

Michiko S.

Thank you for your kind words! They encouraged me a lot. I’ve not been confident in my English. However, I’m a nationally licensed English tour guide and medical interpreter with a certificate of the highest grade in the English proficiency test. Come to think of it, I have no time to despair. I’ll continue practicing English everyday slow but sure to help my guests make their dreams come true. Again, thank you for your kindness!

A wonderful

Michiko is a heart warming person. She is very attentive , kind and generous. She took us to all the places we requested. She is fun and knowledgeable. We were happy to have her as our guide.

Michiko S.

Thank you for your review. It’s encouraged me a lot to carry out nice tours for future guests. I’m on the Shinkansen to go back home from the final route check in Hakone (near Mt. Fuji) for the tour expected the next week. Hakone has an amazing “onsen”, hot springs. Let’s go there next time!

Tries hard

Michiko tries very hard and does her homework to prepare for her tours. Her lunch suggestions were really great and we appreciated that very much.

Michiko S.

Thank you for your review, Veronica. It will be my great motivation for future tours! I always do my best for my guests. I hope you all have refreshed yourselves at the magnificent views of waterfalls and architecture in Nikko and a sea breeze in a Japan’s old capital, Kamakura.
