Meeting Point
Shinjuku or Shibuya station
- If you want hotel pick-up, I am happy to arrange it for extra fee.
Gotokuji Shopping street with various food shops that offer tasty foods.
Setagaya Hachimangu - A small but important Shinto shrine which lies quietly in the woods.
Go-tokuji - a Buddhist temple known as Lucky Cat Temple. Marvel at countless beckoning cat figurines and a beautiful three-story pagoda.
Daikan Yashiki - a historical residence of a commissioned administrator in samurai period
Shoin Jinja shopping street lined up with small food or drink shops and cafes. You can try different foods/drinks than you had at the beginning of the tour.
Carrot Tower - from the observatory deck you can enjoy a wonderful city view of Tokyo.

Tour Important Information
Daikan yashiki is closed on Mondays.
This is basically a walking tour. I advise you to wear comfortable shoes.
Most small shops don't take credit cards, so please bring some cash.
Each food shop in the course is closed on a certain day of the week, and sometimes irregularly. If you have any of the aforementioned food in mind, please let me know in advance so that I can check if the shop will be open on the day of the tour.
The food shops either have just a few chairs or don't have them at all. You can enjoy food while standing outside the shops or walking.
If you wish to add a bar-hopping tour after this tour, I could take you to so-called Triangle Zone in Sangenjaya which is crammed with tiny bars for extra fee.

“A rainy but still perfect day in Tokyo”
I really enjoyed the day with Yumi a lot. Getting all the information about Shintoism and the late emperors of Japan when visiting the Mejii Jingo and Buddhism when visiting the Sensō-ji was wonderful. Closing the day in the quiet Hama-rikyu Gardens was perfect too. But I also enjoyed our conversations about „Gott und die Welt“ („all the world and his wife“ to save you from looking it up) which gave me so much insight into the Japanese culture and thinking. どうもありがとございます Yumi
