Translator not a guide

We had hired Teruki for Kamakura - he is very kind and a good person but he didn’t know anything about Kamakura , he didn’t know where to buy the tickets , the platforms he was quite flustered . He didn’t know anything about any of the temples or Shrines - he didn’t even know anything about Kotuku-in . It was quite disappointing as we felt that we paid for his visit to Kamakura and for his sightseeing. We did tell him about it and he said he was more of a translator for groups and not a guide . Had he told this before we would have saved ¥50,000 . He charged us even for the drinks he had , even after telling him how he was no way useful to us as we were guiding him around Kamakura looking at google maps and other blogs rather than him guiding us . Please don’t waste your money or time . He is a very sweet and happy person but definitely not a guide .

Teruki U.

Hi, Sowmya. Thanks for your review. You should know that the guiding fee does not include meal fee and transportation fee, it is based on the contract when you book the tour. You changed your pickup hotel and add more people to your group which made me quite confused in the first beginning. Your brother was being rude to me at first sight and he asked the honey shop staff to give him free honeycomb which was totally unacceptable in Japan. But as a polite person, I had tried my best to help him. But your brother and his wife were totally impolite and rude towards all the friendly people. Each guide has his style. But mutual respect should come to the first. It seems that finally you have more than 15-18 persons and many of them came to ask questions and they even blamed me and scolded me when their rude questions were not satisfied. I did my best to help you with patience and respect although despite of your dishonesty and impoliteness. Please be respectful to the culture and keep good manner when in the public. Please be kind to the taxi driver and the guide as we serve you not for money, but for mutual respect and trust. Your group asked me to call taxi driver for more 10 times and you refused to pay and bargain with the driver which is also totally rude and unacceptable. I have been a professional guide for over a decade, you are definitely the worst and dishonest persons that I have ever met. You refused to pay my transportation fee and meal fee and lied to me saying that you are short of cash. As you have a big group people, it is obvious you do not want to pay your bill. Your review is just a revenge and what you did is nothing but a shameless act.
