Born and bred in Tokyo I am still living in the suburbs of Tokyo. I spent several years in the U.S. and the UK and wanted to show international visitors around Japan in return for the hospitality I had received in foreign countries. After coming back from the UK, I obtained the qualification of the National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter. I can guide guests to every corner of Tokyo including areas off the beaten track. As a history fan I can tell you a historical episode behind the scenes. From a local perspective I can explain how we Japanese are getting along. My Name is Naoya Usuda. I was born in Tokyo in 1952. After my graduation from Keio University, I joined a Japanese bank. Mainly I was assigned international business and stayed in London for three years. At the age of 52, I moved to a Japanese manufacturer company and had worked for 11 years. As a personnel manager, I engaged in hiring Indian graduates. Then for two years, I went to Tashkent in Uzbekistan as a JICA senior volunteer. I taught "corporate finance" at Tashkent Financial Institute in English. I got the guide license in 2017, After I came back to Tokyo, I am working as a volunteer guide, especially in Shinjuku. I hope to create special and deep tours in which tourists are interested but by now they were not able to gain access to. For example; Visit to various Universities, Visit to narrow streets in Tokyo, Visit to feel Edo (Now and Then) My hobby is playing the guitar. I hope we are in peace through music. I am also interested in Art, History and cooking. My major subject is economics and finance.

I have been in Tokyo(downtown side) since I was born. For three years I have traveled in 57 countries and worked in Bolivia for a year. When I traveled in Maya's ruin, I was really impressed that my guide told me not only the information about the ruin but also how to live in Guatemala, how to earn and the political problem etc... A guide is a diplomatic entrance to the country, I think. From this experience, I would like to give you what I have to every customer. Having been worked as an elementary school teacher in Japan, though I know the educational issue as a strong point, now I work as a tour-conductor traveling around Tokyo area. I used to hike around the world, of course in Japan. Northern Japan Alpes, Southern Japan Alpes, Yatsugatake mountain range and Mt.Fuji. The highest one for me is Mount Cotopaxi in Ecuador with 5892m. Another strong point is that I can hike with you. Let us make unforgettable and precious moment during the tour!

Hi! I’m Yoshi. I’m a pure, but a little bit an international, Japanese, living in Yokohama for about half a century. In addition, I used to live in Malaysia for 2 years, U.S.A. for 8 years and Canada for 3 years. I had long been involved in the international trade of U.S., Canadian, Australian and European grains for 40 years, during which I visited more than 40 countries including most of East Asian and South East Asian countries and most of Western European countries. Now I’m a national certified guide-interpreter, working here for the past couple of years. Believe! There is much more vast range of tourist spots and attractions throughout the year in Japan, even in Tokyo and its neighboring area, than “Green Michelin” and “Lonely Planet” offer to the world. Oops! You will surely encounter a new electricity here and there, day and night! It’s really great to be welcoming here those who; - Like to visit famous historic and cultural sites, shrines and temples in Tokyo, Kamakura, Nikko and other local areas, - Love to bask in the natural beauty of Hakone, Mount Fuji and their vicinity, - Have a keen interest in time-honored, culture-rich local cities like Kanazawa, Takayama, Matsumoto, Nagano and unique rural areas like Shirakawa-go and so many others, - Are fascinated in Japanese art and paintings, both traditional and contemporary, including “Ukiyo-e”, wood block printings, - Are aggressive enough to stroll in the sky by a gondola over an active volcano and sulfurous gush! Oh dear! - Are passionate enough to directly touch the atmosphere of live, sometimes violent, “Matsuri”, traditional festivals in downtown, - Wish to experience Japanese traditional, elaborate craftwork, handed down for centuries, - Are enthusiastic about Japanese various pop culture and unique attractions, - Like, or need, to escape from your everyday stress or boredom anyway! Seeing is believing. Sightseeing is feeling through your own five senses! See Naples and Come on in Japan any time! I’m ready here whenever you are.

Our day trip to Tokyo and Mount Fuji

Nao is a great guide. He was very communicative and planned our tours according to our interest. He is a very delightful and patient guide. We all enjoyed his tour and we strongly recommend him

Sara K.

Hi, Sara Thank you for your feedback. I'm glad I was able to share such a fun time with you. I hope to see you again soon.

You'll be thankful to have Akinobu Sano as your tour guide!

It was such a pleasant visit to Kofu wth Mr Aki accompanying us around. A very helpful gentleman, Aki helped my family going around different places and even assisted our daughter with her registration process at iCLA, a university for international students. He was very well prepared with his itinerary and was able to make changes when requested. I wil definately get him to guide us again when visiting Yamanashi.

Zahidi A.

I’m glad that you have enjoyed the stay in Kofu despite the rainy weather. Hope you’ll have pleasant time while you stay in Japan.

Perfect day

Moto was a perfect guide who planned a wonderful, packed day trip for us in the Yamanashi region using just a rough guide of what it is we were interested in. We were extremely happy and could not have imagined a better experiece. Highly reccommend.

Eli M.

Thanks for a good review! It was a lovely day for the excursion of Yamanashi local sites with autumn leaves. Yamanashi has an iconic symbol as Mt. Fuji, but there are so many places worth seeing except for it. I am very happy that you found and enjoyed them. Please come to Yamanashi again and I will show you more and more!
