KYOTO : FOR VISITORS LOOKING FOR A QUIET, contemplative experience 1 day tour
“"I'm walking" - discovering the hidden treasures of Kyoto”
We had a marvelous day with Shin who just knows his stuff. Arrived early to pick us up, adjusted the schedule along our wishes, his experience and knowledge of the places off-the-beaten-track, his diving into history and personal views, they all together gave us a much better impression of this big and fascinating city. He took his time, we got some nice rests along the way (it was a muggy day), and finished up with a great dinner, all at places he had recommended. Visiting an antiques store has been a discovery, the incense store was a treat. Shin speaks excellent English and is super accommodating, what else can you ask for? We are very happy to have selected this tour and having Shin as our guide. Thank you!
“Excellent Guide ”
A couple from Canada, who were visiting Kyoto via a cruise ship that arrived in Osaka, were fortunate to have Kaz as their guide. He was professional, well-organized, and friendly. Everything went smoothly, from the moment he met us until he dropped us off. I would highly recommend booking with Kaz, as it was a very enjoyable experience spending the day with him.

“Look no further than Nori…”
We are having a fantastic vacation and of all my decisions, picking Nori has been one of the best. Nori worked with me to make an itinerary that that not only fit within our time constraints, it also allowed us to see the beauty and Japanese Culture Kyoto has to offer. We were also able to make adjustments as the day went along that allowed us to enjoy the day. Through his explanations and story telling, we were able to learn about the shrines, temples, market places as well as Japanese history and culture in a way that kept us interested and engaged. He even took pictures for us or directed us to vantage points for good photos. He helped us find a fantastic Ramen place for lunch and assisted us while shopping but not directing us to specific shops. He also helped us make our transition and purchase tickets for the bullet train. Nori is kind, patient and interesting. If I had more time to explore Kyoto, or if I had friends or family coming here, I would insist they hire Nori as a tour guide.

Absolutely! Kyoto has achieved the perfect balance of remaining close to its historical roots as Japan's original capital, rich in culture and customs, while including modern conveniences and tourist-friendly services. It's one of Japan's most tour-conscious cities, next to Tokyo.
That's a tough one! Kyoto has history, slow living, and breathtaking landscapes. Osaka has fantastic food and modern conveniences and is slightly more affordable.
Osaka is great for;
Kyoto is ideal for;
The greatest thing about these two cities is that they're just a train ride away from one another. So whichever you decide, the other option is only 15 minutes away.
Kyoto is often considered more beautiful than Tokyo because of the visually stunning architecture and Edo period buildings, especially those that highlight the nagare-zukuri style. It’s almost like a time machine. City lovers will consider Tokyo more beautiful thanks to its glowing billboards, high-end hotels, buzzing restaurants, and nightlife. Our recommendation? See both and decide for yourself. Tokyo and Kyoto are only 2 hours apart.
