Kobe JR Fukuchiyama Abandoned Line Hike
The Fukuchiyama Abandoned Railway Hike is one of the hiking course that uses the abandoned railway line between Namase Station and Takedao Station on former Japan National Railways Fukuchiyama Line, was closed in 1986. Stretching for about 4.7km along the valley, the remains of the railway including 6 tunnels and 3 bridges from when locomotive once ran remain intact. The trail is easy enough for even beginners to hike and can be completed in about 2-3 hours at an average walking pace.

This is the exit point of the 4.7km hiking trail.
The tour ends at Takedao Station on the JR Fukuchiyama Line.
From the hiking trail exit, walk towards Takedao Station on the JR Fukuchiyama Line.

* This tour involves a lot of walking, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes.
*Very comfortable shoes with thick soles are much better.(There are bumps)
*The course is flat, so beginners and children can participate.
*The sleepers are slippery so walk slowly.
*It's a unique experience to walk through a pitch black tunnel and see the light at the end.
*You can enjoy 4 times In each of the four seasons.
