Noboribetsu, derived from the Ainu word "nupur-pet", which means a muddy river, is located along the coastline in the southwestern part of Hokkaido. Although its biggest attraction is Noboribetsu Onsen(hot spring), the city has many places of scenic beauty. The three popular theme parks are also added to its attraction. The tour gives you an opportunity to feel the raw power of nature.

What to Expect

Jigokudani(Hell Valley), a smoking active spring, is situated at the end of the Onsen town. You can stroll into the valley with an amazing view in any season. Noboribetsu Bear Park, located on a hilltop overlooking the town, is accessible by ropeway, Noboribetsu Jidaimura is a historical theme park that re-enacts the townscape and culture of the Edo period Japan, and Noboribetsu Marine Park Nixe, an aquarium, features shows like the penguin parade and dolphin performance. These theme parks are quite popular with tourists. What's for lunch? you can try fresh seafood at the local seafood restaurant, Jingisukan(Hokkaido's local food), the Japanese mutton and vegetable dish, or some local food at the local restaurant. Most hotels and bathing facilities in Noboribetsu Onsen offer a day trip hot spring for fees. It'll be great if you take a nice and relaxing hot spring during your trip! Never say good until you have Onsen!! I'd be so happy if you will have a great time here in Noboribetsu with a little help of me.

Day trip to Noboribetsu

Was a wonderful day spent with Tatsuya. We had a chance to dine at local food places, and he was extremely accommodating on our requests and changes, and very patient with our little boy. Thank you!
