Let's go experience a different aspect of Tokyo! By walking the old road ("Mukashimichi") in Okutama town, which is located at the west end of Tokyo, I'd like you to enjoy the nature, history and the culture in Japan.
We start the walking from Okutama station to the Okutama lake. From the lake, we will use the bus to go back to the station.

1. Enjoy the nature in Tokyo
Okutama region is a mountainous area although it is in Tokyo metropolitan area. It's easy to access.
2. See the culture of Japan
During the hike, you can see Shrines, villages, old houses and so on. The scenery is totally different with other sightseeing spots such as Tokyo or Kyoto!
3. 10km walking in an easy trail
The trail we will walk is the old road which was the important trade route in Edo period. Now It was expanded and easy to walk. You can be relaxed and enjoy the nature and culture.
Transportation fares for Guide
Transportation fares for yourself (350 yen/person from the Okutama lake to Okutama station)
-In a rainy day, it's possible to change the plan so please be prepared for modifications to the route. In a sudden heavy rain, I'll guide you to the nearest bus stop and go back to the station.
-Please bring your rain wear. Sometimes the rain makes the scenery more beautiful.
-We will take a lunch break on the way of the tour. Please bring your lunch by your self. We can drop by in a convenience store near Okutama station.
-Please wear shoes that are comfortable to walk in and dress appropriately for changeable weather.
The total distance is around 10km or 6 miles. The road is very easy to walk but please have suitbale shoes for hiking(not high heels or sandals).
