Yasukuni Shrine

Defined as "Shrine of Peace for the Nation", Yasukuni Shrine was founded in 1869, the 2nd year of Meiji Era of Japan. It enshrines approximately 2.5 million Japanese and other nationals. The designation of the shrine is the prayer and repose of soul of the people who dedicated their lives. While this shrine has been the serious subject in the international politics and humanity discussions, I personally dedicate my prayer for the sacred humans who dedicated their souls and lives and for the eternal peace of the world. I try my best to explain the historical background of Japan together with my views of the world peace.

11:10 AM

Yanaka Ginza

Just 15 minutes walk from JR Nippori Station, Yanaka Ginza offers the nostalgic atmosphere of Tokyo's early Showa Period. People make a point of preserve good old historical assets. This nostalgia would never be created by artificial intelligence as complex human activities and lives have created such atmosphere. Yanaka Ginza's history goes back to the mid 20th century, when Tokyo and Japan have started to recover from the devastating war.

11:50 AM

Nezu Shrine

Known as 1900 year old shrine from the original foundation, the current construction is said to have been built in 1706 by the 6th Shogun of the Edo Government. The red Torii Gates are called one of Tokyo's "spiritual" spots.

Asakusa is Tokyo's No.1 place to feel and experience old history of Tokyo.

Reviews

A really fruitful experience!

Mr. Tsutomu was extremely helpful and supportive in organizing this tour experience for our group. He is very knowledgeable and engaging and answered all of our questions. His English is also very good. Overall, it was a great experience and we look forward to meeting again!

An excellent way to explore Tokyo

Tom was a great tour guide! He spent the day showing us key sites throughout Tokyo. Without him we wouldn't know the history behind so many important shrines and places. He gave me and my friends an amazing tour and I highly recommend him to anyone looking to learn and explore more of Tokyo.

Gregory from Tom, I want to thank you for your kind review for my service of guiding you and your friends in Japan. It was such a quality time with lots of laughs and smiles. Meeting with nice people like yourselves is the best reward being a tour guide. I am wishing you and yours only the very best. Sincerely, Tom

The best guide ever!!

Tsutomu san treated us like family, like ohana. He was patient, kind, playful, and extraordinarily hospitable!! He accommodated our age ranges and physical limitations. Tsutomu-san also went way above and beyond to entertain and play with my children, engage our papa in wonderful conversation, and ensure we were comfortable and supported. We could not have asked for a better or more warm and welcoming person to take us around Tokyo. It was truly a pleasure and we’ve made a dear friend!!! Uncle Tsutomu-san is the best (littelest kid, age 3)

Kamakana W.

Kamakana san and a beautiful family from Tsutomu, Once again I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity of guiding you. Time passes quickly when we are having fun. That’s exactly what happened when I was with you and your family. It was cold outside in the winter but inside my heart got so warm thanks to you and your family. Everything was so natural and I enjoyed every moment during your tours. It’s great I have pictures of the wonderful memories of your tours. You have given me a great influence for my perspective of future guests, which is, the optimism for my future tour guide work. You have brightened my unknown future view of tour guide career by being such naturally considerate guests. You have reminded me of how we can treat people by being naturally kind. I will be wishing nothing but the very best for you and your beloved family. Thanks again for making me so happy. Sincerely,
