Meiji Shrine
Meiji Shrine is a Shinto shrine surrounded by a sacred forest of 100 years.
It enshrines Emperor Meiji, who led Japan into modernization. Let's stroll along the approach in the refreshing morning air within the sacred forest and talk about Shintoism and the Emperor of Japan.
Imperial Palace East Garden
Edo Castle, which served as the headquarters of the Tokugawa Shogunate, became the Imperial Palace during the Meiji Restoration. Within the Imperial Palace grounds lies the East Gardens, open to the public. These gardens evoke the era of the shogun with their magnificent castle ruins and the beautiful Ninomaru Garden.

Without any doubt, this is one of the most beautiful promenades in Japan, and also, especially historical road. At first sight, it doesn't look a lot of historical signs concealed. I'll tell you such secrets of this promenade taking a stroll on this road. There's no splendid palace like Versailles, but we can find remains of "Castle" in many places. That's the secret of this road because It's the scene of Japanese revolution, a dramatic and irreversible social change llike French revolution.

Akihabara Walking Tour
