Nihonbashi (or "Japan Bridge) area used to be a center of Japan, where Japan's major five main travel roads started during Edo-period. Now, it is a very unique town with a mixture of old tradition and modern culture. In this tour we will roam the down town of Nihonbashi, in which we visit seven lucky shrines to finish the tour at the very fashionable shopping street of Nihonbashi.

Kodenma-cho station
We will start our tour from Kodenma-cho station and walk and visit seven lucky god's shrines, each of which worship seven different Japanese traditional deities, Jurojin, Ebisu, Hotei, Benzaiten, Bishamonten, Daikokuten and Fukurokuju. It is believed that if you visit all the seven deities in one day, you will be blessed with seven happiness and prevent seven misfortunes. Those small and cozy shrines are mostly situated in Nihon-bashi down town's back streets, so you should be able to peek in the daily life of local people and its culture.
Nihonbashi main street
After the tour of seven lucky God's shrine, we will go to the main street of Nihonbashi, where we can see and visit the mixture of old tradition and modern culture. Among the things we can experience there includes, visit to Mitsukoshi department store which is one of the oldest department store in Japan with a magnificent historical architecture, "Kiya" a very traditional Japanese knife shop, "Ninben" very famous shop which deals Japanese traditional food seasoning "Katsuo-bushi" , i.e. dried Bonito, ”Tsuruya Yoshinobu" a very traditional Japanese sweet shop where you can experience to make Japanese sweet "Wa-gashi" and others.

We will eat our lunch at the center of Nihonbashi. I will arrange a restaurant to meet your preference.
