When you are in abroad, finding a clean and safe toilet may be an issue. Well, you have no such worries in this tour, because very clean and safe toilets are where we are going to visit. In 2021, Shibuya ward started a project called "Tokyo Toilet ". They invited 16 of world's top architects and commissioned them to design and build very unique public toilets in public parks in Shibuya.
In this tour we are going to visit 5 "must see" toilets out of those 16 toilets.

Yoyogi hachiman shrine and Three Mush room designer’s toilet
We will start our tour to visit one of the famous power spots in Tokyo, Yoyogi Hachiman shrine, where we pray for the safety of our tour. Three Mushroom toilet is situated in the entrance of the shrine. It was designed by an architect, Tomio Ito. It looks as if those Mushrooms are a natural extension of the forest just behind the toilet.
Spring Stream Community Park Toilet
This is probably one of the most unique toilets in the world. Designed by a famous architect Shigeru Ban, this toilet is surrounded by transparent glass walls and you can see through the glass to look inside the toilet. How can you use it? Well, seeing is believing. There are several nice and cozy cafes around this park. So we may enjoy a good cup of coffee or tea.
Yoyogi Fukamachi small park and its designer’s toilet
This is another one of the transparent toilet. Only the color scheme is different from the previous one. From this park to the next destination we will walk through one of Japan’s most prestigious residential areas called town of Shoto. This area alone is worth the visit.
Nabeshima Shoto park and its desiner’s toilet
This park used to be a part of Shogun Tokugawa clan’s residence. It is so quiet and cozy that you can not believe it is in the middle of bustling Tokyo. The toilet was designed by a very famous Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, who designed the Olympic Stadium of recent Tokyo Olympic. From this park to the next destination, wi will walk through the busiest streets of Shibuya. We will also pay a brief visit to the famous Shibuya scramble crossing.
Jingu Dori park and its designers toilet
The toilet in this park was designed by the world famous architect Tadao Ando.
Miyashita Park and Shibuya Alleyway
From the last park we will head toward Shibuya station. On the way to the station, we will walk through a fashionable shopping mall called MIYASHITA PARK and Shibuya alleyway where the are a lot of street food stands. So we may enjoy some shopping or grab some Japanese food if you wish.
