Thank you so much again Sensei!!! It was so nice to see you and your students. Hopefully, next time when you come back to Japan, I can show how to do my Taisabaki (judo). :)

Volcanos and Vinigar

Sini was a lovely guide. She rented a car to drive around our group of 6. We started the tour by heading to the ferry terminal which transported us and the car to Sakurajima Volcano. We were able to beat the big busses and arrived at the museum before 9:00. This allowed us to enjoy the mineral foot baths and walk around the volcano without crowds. After completing a loop narrated by Sini and visiting the Arimura observatory, we enjoyed the museum and had plenty of time for photo opps before our next stop. Back on the ferry, we returned to Kagoshima and visited a vinegar field where we learned about the process of making rice vinegar. The farm has an extensive store that sells many of its products which you can sample and purchase, but the highlight for me was having lunch upstairs in their restaurant with has beautiful views of Sakurahama volcano. Having had a delightful traditional Japanese lunch with many plates took some time so we were a little rushed in the Japanese Samurai garden-Senganen. This is a world culture site that you could take a whole day to enjoy, but we had only one hour. We did have time to see the traditional house which required removing our shoes, but was a beautiful example of Samurai elite living. As promised, Sini returned us to the port at the agreed upon time and with a full day's adventure! We would highly recommend this tour for your day in Kagoshima.

Wonderful Tour Guide

Atsuko is a Wonderful tour guide. She is professional, respectful, kind, energetic, and very fun to spend the day with. We spend 2 days with her. One day to Kyoto and went to beautiful Arayashima Bamboo Forest and Tenryu-ji Temple, and even rode the train that goes through the river gorge that was absolutely lovely. The 2nd day we went to Himeji Castle and Kobe. Atsuko was a wealth of information about both places we enjoyed learning from her. The castle was so amazing and historic, and Kobe had a great Chinatown with yummy food. We were also were impressed with the gorgeous and modern Port of Kobe. We loved having Atsuko as our tour guide and highly recommend her!

Hello Ms. Harriet, Thank you for your kind review and words for me. I am happy to know you enjoyed the tours on both days. I had a wonderful time with all of you in Kyoto, Himeji and Kobe. Each of the areas has its own attraction. I really enjoyed showing the picturesque nature in Kyoto, the impressive castle, the beautiful port area and shrine. If you have another chance to visit here, please let me know. Thank you for joining my tour. Best regards, Atsuko
