The Edo period, when Tokyo became the capital, is often seen as the peak of Japanese art and culture! Temple architecture, woodworking, woodblock prints, porcelain... I will use traditional handicrafts to illustrate the history and lifestyle of the people of Tokyo. Who were the samurai? What difference with a Ninja? How were armors crafted? I am also going to teach you all you need to know about those fierce warriors in front of a large collection of authentic weapons & armors.

Our Tour will start from Meiji Shrine, then move to Takeshita street where you can find cute ‘Kawaii’ culture. On Omotesando Promenades you will find a gorgeous line-up of newly designed architecture, such as Omotesando Hills by Tadao Ondo etc. Finish is Shibuya where you can enjoy Shibuya Crossing. Goal will be good Japanese restaurant.

Bunkyo City is in the heart of central Tokyo, just north of Chiyoda City where the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station are. The city is Tokyo’s typical residential and academic area where I was born, grew up, and live now. We'll move around the city with a Bunkyo City Community Bus, B-guru ( “beagle”, the mascot character of the bus), and visit Edo-Tokyo Japanese gardens and other calm and pleasant sites. You'll also catch a glimpse of Tokyo citizens’ life during the tour.

In this tour, we visit the beautiful Koishikawa Korakuen Garden, created in 1629. Afterwards, we move to the place for where you can experience tea ceremony, where a tea master prepares matcha in a refined, ritualized manner. You’ll savor Japanese sweets, learn about the history and philosophy of tea ceremony, and even try making tea yourself.

“Tokyo Tour with Nao”

Such a nice tour dealing with a local, just with my friend and I. Nao met us at the Tokyo Statuon and helped us both get a Suica card and went off on our way to see many places in Tokyo using the train. Thanks again Nao we had a wonderful time see Tokyo for the first time.

“Great, flexible tour with Melody ”

Thank you, Wanda! Our journey with you was truly wonderful. From Hamarikyu Japanese Garden and Kabukiza Theatre to the cherry blossom collaboration at the Art Aquarium, as well as Ginza, Akihabara, the Tokyo National Museum in Ueno, and the sunset at Tokyo Skytree — it was a perfect blend of history and modern pop culture.
