Shopping

Shibuya 109, also popularly called "ichi-maru-kyuu" (or "marukyuu" for short) by the locals, is a known fashion shopping centre especially targeted to highly-fashionable and trendy teenagers in Japan. The fashion mall spans 10 floors of the hottest and latest trends for female fashion. Although Shibuya 109 might be considered less appealing to non-teenagers because of the fast changing trends of modern Japanese youth clothing, foreign tourists who want to experience the best of Japanese fashion can often sighted in this Japanese teens fashion hub.

A variety of fashionable clothes of different themes and styles can be found in Shibuya 109, from lolita to gyaru, punk, and more. Most items and clothes are made by Japanese brands, others by less known brands or indies. Top quality should not be much expected, but if you are after that youthful Japanese street look, then you are all good to shop in 109.

From tops, bottoms, dresses, shoes, accessories, make-up, and all the other fashion items you've been thinking about... you will never run out of choices from Shibuya 109.

Another interesting thing about 109 is the way the store clerks and staff members are dressed. Just looking at the sales personnel will give you an idea of what kind of clothes their boutique sells. Things might be a bit chaotic inside though due to the loud music streaming through the speakers of every store, each with a different playlist.

Shibuya 109 is one of those high-rise iconic buildings you will see upon stepping in Shibuya’s grounds, and is already considered as a major tourist attraction in metropolitan Tokyo.

Japan

I was born and grew up in Yokohama. I used to work in Tokyo for more than 20 years. I became the National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter in English in 2013. At first, I had attended a volunteer group which provided a tour of the Imperial Palace East Gardens until 2015. I guided more than fifty times in the garden as a volunteer and studied about Japanese history and culture. Based on this experience, I became a tour guide of this online site in 2015. Since then, I have guided more than 500 tours in Tokyo as well as Yokohama, Kamakura, Hakone, Kyoto, Nikko, etc., while improving my tours. My tours are very flexible and I always do my best to customize them according to the interests of my guests. I studied about the places and will provide you knowledge to appreciate them more deeply than just visiting there by yourself or a member of group tours. I like foods and I know many restaurants which provide typical Japanese lunch with reasonable price without waiting too long. Therefore, I am sure that I can provide you the best tours customized to your interests. It will be my great pleasure to help you to enjoy your stay in Japan. So please be my guest!!
