Japan

Kon-ni-chi-wa. Hello! I'm Kaori, having lived in Tokyo for more than 20 years since I got married to a photographer who lives here. Originally from Shizuoka prefecture which has Mt.Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan. I took 2 working-holiday-visa stays in my younger days. One is in Toronto, Canada, and another is Australia touring by motorcycle. One year respectively. I love travel both international and domestic. That's why I love helping individual travelers rather than group tours, because I myself love travel freely. Love nature, gardens, trekking, greenery, also anime. My favorite is taking you to the off-the-beaten tracks where I love. As a national government licensed guide, I've got deep knowledge of Japanese culture and history. I really enjoy talking about the way of life with people from different cultures. We see what you like and talk what you are interested in. That's my style. If you don't know what to want, I can help you with that. I'm happy to make tailor-made tours only for you (up to 4 people) upon your request. ・Half Day as you like (up to 4 hours) : 40,000 JPY ・Full Day as you like (up to 8 hours) : 64,000 JPY ・Extra hour over 8hours : 6,000 JPY/hour I'm quite an outgoing person, ( but organized well! ), easy to get along with anybody, including small kids to teenagers. Can't wait to see you soon!

Japan

Hello! My name is Grant, and I’ve spent over a decade living and exploring Japan. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, I first came to Japan as a high school exchange student in Inuyama, a historic castle town in Aichi. My love for Japan began early—sparked by childhood games like Pokémon that were released in Japanese before English. That early curiosity grew into a lifelong passion for Japanese language, culture, and history. I hold an N2 on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, a degree in Asian Studies from a Tokyo university, and I graduated from the Japan Visual Media Translation Academy. I’ve visited all 47 prefectures and explored a wide range of historical sites, shrines, and castles throughout the country. My background in Japanese history helps me provide context that brings depth and meaning to the places we visit—whether it's understanding a centuries-old temple in Kyoto, the story behind a castle ruin, or uncovering the historical layers of a Tokyo neighborhood. If you’re planning to explore Tokyo, here are some tour options to consider: One day in Tokyo? The Ginza Line Tour offers a great introduction to the city’s highlights. Two days? Pair the East Tokyo Tour and West Tokyo Tour to get a well-rounded experience. Interested in anime? The Anime Tour is flexible and can be tailored to match your specific interests. For those looking to go beyond the city, I also offer day trips to Nikko, Kamakura, and other nearby destinations. While most guests book Tokyo-based tours, I also guide in other regions—especially Kyoto, where I’ve visited every World Heritage Site. I regularly lead tours in Osaka, Nara, Nagoya, Hikone, and other locations easily reached by rail. Multi-day and custom tours are available on request. Full-Day Tour: 40,000 yen (8 hours) Full-Day Tour Outside of Tokyo: 40,000 yen + transportation Feel free to get in touch to plan a tour that fits your interests and travel plans.

Tokyo Tour Guide - Kent I.

Kent I.

Japan

Hello! My name is Kent and I live in Shinjuku, Tokyo. I am a master of Tea ceremony and Ikebana(Flower arrangement). I have been learning these cultural activities for more than 10 years. I have assisted with tea ceremonies at a Zen temple and participated in Ikebana shows for tourists. These experiences have provided me with extensive knowledge and deep insights into Japanese culture developed under the influence of Zen. While I studied these cultural traditions privately, I majored in engineering and earned a degree in the field from Kyoto University. My days in Kyoto has made me familier with local lives and cultural activities. Thanks to the connections from that time, I can host a tea ceremony there. After graduating, I worked in robot software development, collaborating remotely with our American colleagues in Michigan. I also engaged with clients and local sales teams in Germany, India, and China. They showed strong interests in Japanese culture and my background. This exposure deepened my appreciation for Japan’s rich cultural heritage, inspiring me to guide tours as well as practicing cultural activities. Now, I live in Shinjuku, Tokyo with my wife, enjoying life here. I will guide tours to convey the history and culture of Japan and provide creative experiences. I am also available to offer tours of Kyoto or other places than Tokyo for an additional transportation fee.

Japan

Zögern Sie also nicht, mir Ihre Wünsche mitzuteilen! Und noch etwas: Entschuldigen Sie, wenn ich manchmal ein wenig Schwäbisch spreche – den Grund erfahren Sie während meiner Tour! -------------------------------------------------------------- I was born and raised in Japan and later moved to Germany. From 1998 to 2021, I lived in Germany. For me, Germany is like a second home, full of wonderful memories. As an experienced simultaneous interpreter for German/Japanese (for 16 years) and English/Japanese (for 5 years) , I am constantly moving between cultures. That’s why I’m even more excited to introduce you to my home country—in your language! The great thing about a private guided tour is that it can be tailored to your preferences. So please don’t hesitate to let me know what you’d like to see and experience! I’m looking forward to guiding you on my tour!

Tokyo Tour Reviews

Fiipino Cultural Immersion tour w/ Moses

I’m in Japan working on a book about Filipino migrant labor in Tokyo, and I contacted Moses in the hopes that he could organize a tour that might offer a glimpse of Filipino life in the city. Moses more than delivered: he took me to several Filipino-owned businesses (grocery stores, restaurants, etc.), the Philippines embassy, introduced me to his Filipino co-workers, etc. We also took time out to have an all-you-can-eat Filipino dinner (including karaoke!). But the best part of the tour was getting to know Moses, who is an incredibly warm, friendly, and thoughtful person, who shared his own insights and experiences living in Tokyo. Moses’s tour was immensely helpful for my research, and it’s clear that he can lead an excellent tour that suits any visitor’s particular interests and needs. An excellent tour guide, a wonderful person—hire him!

Fabulous Food and Fun!

Kuni was an excellent guide, it was our first time in Tokyo and this was a great way to be introduced to local nightlife, interesting and intimate bars and restaurants. Kuni was easy to understand and did an amazing job. We were able to meet up with him without any issues as well. Highly recommend this tour with Kuni!

Japan Culminates Our Dream Travel

Sorry for a late reply. We did not feel well when we got home after this long journey for two months in Asia. However, our trip in Japan culminates our dream travel. We picked up our Cruise line in Yokohama and traveled around Japan in 12 days. We were hunger for more and decided to make a three-day stops in Tokyo. I search well to find GoWithGuide for a full guided one day tour with Mr Masato. Perfect. He is the right person to travel with and he guided us on the spots we like. My husband wants to see the famous bronze statue of Hachico, the famous Akita dog in Shibuya. This town has a lot to offer: famous Shibuya Crossings, which again me husband has to make his own marked on the famous crossings and the food/tour places. Mr Masato knows Tokyo well, at the Meiji Shrines, he shared the Shinto culture, landmarks and proper ways and observing respected places. A very memorable stop. Our final stop was at a Tea time, fancy but worth it. A pastry chef (expert in pastry making and design). Tasted a very selected tea. Mr Masato, thank you for a wonderful time. Edgar & Adora
