Hello everyone! I was born and raised in Kawagoe, a charming historic city located just next to Tokyo in Saitama Prefecture. Two years ago, I graduated from university here in Japan, and I now work as both a tour guide and a study abroad support advisor. Three years ago, I had the life-changing opportunity to study abroad in Vancouver, Canada. The warmth and hospitality of the locals left a deep impression on me. I discovered the joy of immersing myself in a new culture and way of life, and I truly came to appreciate the beauty of connecting with people from diverse backgrounds. Now, I want to be the one offering that kind of experience to others. As your guide, my goal is to make your journey in Japan truly special. Through GoWithGuide, I strive to go beyond typical sightseeing—I want to create meaningful opportunities for you to engage with Japan’s rich culture and traditions on a deeper level. I’m committed to providing a safe, thoughtful, and unforgettable experience for every guest. Let’s not just visit Japan—let’s feel Japan. Join me on this unique journey, and together, let’s discover the heart and soul of this incredible country. I look forward to meeting you soon! Depending on your tour and needs, my teammates Kei and Ethan may also join to help ensure the best experience.

Hello! My name is Ken (Kenichi), and I’m a professional tour guide with experience guiding over 1,500 foreign tourists as of February 2025. I have worked for both Japanese and international companies in Tokyo for over 30 years, giving me deep insight into the city and its unique charm. I fully understand the challenges that many first-time travelers face when visiting Japan, especially in a busy city like Tokyo. *Bookings for cherry blossom season are full; if the date on the calendar is greyed out I am not available* Hello! My name is Grant, and I’ve spent over a decade living and exploring Japan. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, I first came to Japan as a high school exchange student in Inuyama, a historic castle town in Aichi. My love for Japan began early—sparked by childhood games like Pokémon that were released in Japanese before English. This passion led me to pass the N2 Japanese Language Proficiency Test in 2018, study at language schools across Japan, and graduate from the Japan Visual Media Translation Academy. I’ve traveled to every prefecture in Japan, often using unlimited rail passes to explore castles, historic sites, and regional specialties. I hold a degree in Asian Studies from a Tokyo university, and my extensive experience living in Tokyo has made me an expert on the city’s transportation system, hidden gems, and affordable eats. With over 30 visits to Kyoto, I have deep knowledge of its historical sites and the broader cultural landscape of Japan. I studied at Japanese language school in Kyoto. I visited all the world heritage sites in Kyoto and have a lot of knowledge on the history of Japan. I can provide tours of Kyoto or places outside of Tokyo for an additional transportation fee. Tour options: Half-Day Tour: 20,000 yen (4 hours) Full-Day Tour: 40,000 yen (8 hours) Full-Day Tour Outside of Tokyo: 40,000 yen plus transportation expense

Zögern Sie also nicht, mir Ihre Wünsche mitzuteilen! Und noch etwas: Entschuldigen Sie, wenn ich manchmal ein wenig Schwäbisch spreche – den Grund erfahren Sie während meiner Tour! -------------------------------------------------------------- I was born and raised in Japan and later moved to Germany. From 1998 to 2021, I lived in Germany. For me, Germany is like a second home, full of wonderful memories. As an experienced simultaneous interpreter for German/Japanese (for 16 years) and English/Japanese (for 5 years) , I am constantly moving between cultures. That’s why I’m even more excited to introduce you to my home country—in your language! The great thing about a private guided tour is that it can be tailored to your preferences. So please don’t hesitate to let me know what you’d like to see and experience! I’m looking forward to guiding you on my tour!

Fantastic Shibuya night tour

Aissam was on time , friendly and professional from start to finish on our night tour of the Tokyo/Shibuya districts. He catered for my husbands passion for record collecting by taking us to the Tower record shop and was also caring in how the tour was navigated as I was not well that night. Aissam was attentive and gave full descriptions of the areas we passed through, and made sure we had a classic Japanese meal before ensuring we got back to our hotel safely. We would highly recommend Aissam to anyone wanting a tour of Tokyo and the surrounding areas- A+ & 5*****

Aissam E.

Thank you so much for the thoughtful review! It was an absolute pleasure spending the evening with you both in Tokyo/Shibuya. I really enjoyed all the deep conversations we had. It made the tour feel even more special

Lackluster tour with almost no information given

I have taken several tours around the world, and this one by far was my least favorite. I booked this tour for our first full day of Tokyo to learn about 5 of the major sites. Not only did Shoji barely share information about the sites, he was so soft spoken that when we would ask questions, we could barely hear him. Half way through our tour, he put on a mask and we couldn’t hear anything when he did talk. I kept leaning in and asking what he said. We took the tour on a Wednesday and several of the places in the fish market were closed. He didn’t tell us until we arrived at the fish market. The website said 2,000-3,000¥ ($13-$20) per person for lunch, and you pay for his meal. He took us to a sushi restaurant and that was our most expensive meal ($98/14,700 ¥) in Tokyo ($32/per person). It kept getting worse as the day progressed. Shoji would not talk to us. We kept constantly asking for more information of the area, site, or just about Tokyo. He said a couple sentences then was silent again as he power walked ahead. The River Cruise was complete silence. There was a tour guide with guests sitting behind us, and we learned so much by listening to her. The Imperial Palace, Asakusa-Sensoji Temple, and Meiji Temple were all the same. He barely said a word to us. I had to ask him to tell us the procedures on entering the temples/shrines because I had read there’s a process. I have never had a tour guide that barely talked. We went on other tours in Tokyo with phenomenal tour guides so it’s not that the Japanese are quiet and shy. To end the tour, Shoji told us we still owed him 3,000¥ (1,000¥ per person) for the River Cruise. You have to pay for his ticket. His tour info said 750¥ was the entry fee for the cruise, so I don’t know if we overpaid. He didn’t show us the receipt, he just told us we owed him that. Shoji has no enthusiasm and for a tour guide - that is key for me. Writing an honest review so that others do not have the same experience.

Knowledgeable!

We had an incredible time in Tokyo. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly thorough. From the moment we met her, it was clear she knew everything there is to know about the history of the city, and we learned so much during our time together. She took us on the subway with ease, making sure we were comfortable with every stop, and even made sure to end each day with clear instructions on how to get to our dinner reservations. She went above and beyond by writing out detailed subway routes for us, which made navigating so much easier! We moved at an unhurried pace in a busy city, which gave us more time to absorb everything she shared. We are grateful for Keiko's dedication and all the insights she provided.
