I reached out to Atsuko on the recommendation of a friend and I am so happy I did! The half day tour was perfect for us, starting in our hotel lobby so we did not have to try to navigate somewhere first thing in the morning while jet lagged. Atsuko was very quick with communication during the planning phase and able to cater to our interests for history, food, and gardens. During the tour, Atsuko taught us so much about the history and culture of Tokyo with a refreshing enthusiasm. We were never stressed or rushed for time, even having a stop at a tea shop in Hamarikyu gardens! Atsuko was very personable, taking time to get to know each person on the tour and making them feel included. I would highly recommend Atsuko to anyone looking for a comprehensive and effortless way to get to know Tokyo.

“Jazz club and jazz kissa”

After ascertaining what I was looking for, Stephen provided details of suitable venues and then made arrangements according to my choice. We enjoyed a casual meal together followed by a visit to a jazz club, then to a kissa not too far away. It was exactly what I was seeking and I enjoyed the evening. Communication was clear and quick, and Stephen provided helpful advice re public transport. I’d be happy to travel again with Stephen.

She met us in our hotel lobby and showed us how to take the train to Ueno. We started at Ueno Park, next to the Tokyo National Museum, where a festival was going on, so we got to wander and soak it all in. Etsu made it clear we could stop anywhere or change the plan at any time. It was really our night. Then came the food. She took us to local spots we never could have found on our own: a small omakase sushi place that was delicious, then a tucked-away spot (truly impossible to find without her) for skewers and a few beers, and finally a sake tasting pub, which was a blast. Etsu was sweet and genuine the whole time. She clearly takes her work seriously without being rigid, and you could tell she was always reading the room to make sure we were having the best time possible. We did, and we left feeling like we'd made a friend. The four hours flew by. I highly recommend Etsu to anyone visiting Tokyo!
