Her clear, fluent English was especially important for me due to hearing difficulties, and she communicated in a way that made everything easy to follow. She also guided us through using the subway, showing us how to purchase a Suica card and navigate the system confidently. This practical help made getting around the city far simpler. Keiko chose a local sushi restaurant for lunch—an authentic spot that offered a nice break from the tourist areas. Wir haben unser Programm vorab gemeinsam mit ihr entwickelt, da unser Fokus darauf lag, das echte Tokioter Leben zu spüren und den Massentourismus - sofern möglich - zu umschiffen. Was Ayami so besonders macht, ist ihre unglaubliche Flexibilität und ihre fröhliche, unkomplizierte Art. Sie ist nicht die Art von Guide, die nur steife Fakten auswendig lernt, sondern sie lässt sich voll und ganz auf die Wünsche ihrer Gäste ein und zeigt Ecken der Stadt, die man in keinem Reiseführer findet. Ob wir im Kaisergarten waren, die Aussicht vom Tokyo Tower genossen, durch die "Elektro-Geschäfte" von Akihabara streiften oder im Team Lab Borderless waren – Ayami hat uns sicher und mit viel Elan durch das Labyrinth geführt. Ganz nebenbei spricht sie zudem hervorragendes Deutsch, was für viele Reisende ein riesiger Pluspunkt ist. Mit 25.000 Schritten am Tag haben wir Moderne und Tradition hautnah erlebt.
