Dai is the guide you want!!

I booked the make your own tour. Dai (pronounced Die) corresponded back and forth with me on what the members of my party were interested in. For me it was the Tsukiji fish market. For my daughter it was cosplay/anime stuff and for my husband it was the cream sandwiches at Age.3. For all 3 of us it was Sakura (cherry blossoms). He didn't miss a step in curating a unique experience that would satisfy everyone in the family. We had 2 full days with him and we accomplished all the things +++. Day 1 he met us at our hotel and we taxied to Hama-rikyu Gardens to see the cherry blossoms coming in. Then we went to Tsukiji market. That is not to be missed! Dai had connections everywhere and took us to a restaurant in outer Tsukiji where the locals went. Unbelievable sushi. After that my husband and I were tired so he took my (adult) daughter where she could buy a cosplay outfit. Dai had done his homework ahead of time and knew on day 2 there was going to be a big anime festival. Then they came back and we all went to dinner for shabu shabu. A very long day for him but he was great about it. Day 2 started early at another set of gardens before heading to the anime fest. My daughter was pulled into the parade and I don't know the last time I saw her so happy. Then he took us to Asakusa where we went to the animal cafe and we got to pet otters, owls, hedgehogs and a capybara. Next we toured Asakusa shrines (amazing!) before he took us to get the cream sandwiches at Age 3. We then had dinner at another place he picked that was even better than the shabu shabu. Finally we arrived back at our hotel and said our goodbyes to someone who 2 days earlier was a stranger that was now like family. Seriously cannot recommend him enough. He speaks perfect English and is well traveled. I should also add that I had mentioned to him that I had some back issues and he took great care to make sure I was always comfortable. All in all just a fabulous time with a perfect guide!!

2 days I spent with Michele with her family are incredibly amazing and I never forget all of things. I am a tour guide and love showing travelers around so many things but I experienced exactly a new world during that time. For example, I knew places but I've never tried to join the local festival with cosplaying. The time I spent with them gave me a new perspective on things I already knew. I appreciate for your kindness and hope you enjoy the rest of your staying in Japan! :)
