Hello! I’m Koichiro. Please call me “Yamasan”. It derives from my family name and my friends call me so. I worked for a machinery company as a project manager and engineer for mechanical and electrical construction projects both domestic and overseas for over 35 years. I recall my first overseas project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia when I was 26, and the second was in Singapore. I visited many countries for surveys, meetings, commissioning, project handing over, and so on. In 2014 at the age of 60, I decided to retire from the company and live the expected further 30 years of life with a new career and experiences. I, then, studied translation and guide interpretation. I passed the national examination for licensed guides (English) in 2015 and registered with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in February 2016. Until now, I have been guiding many beautiful guests mainly to popular sightseeing spots such as Asakusa, Tsukiji, Omote-Sando, Meiji Jingu Shrine, and Tokyo Skytree, and also cultural experiences of Origami making, Furoshiki wrapping, and Sushi cooking. I am happy that I can freely arrange a customized tour together with you, or can propose my tours to you. I want to show you some parts of daily Tokyo life and introduce you to Bunkyo City which is located in the heart of Tokyo, just north of Chiyoda City where the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station are. The city is Tokyo’s typical residential and academic area where I was born, grew up, and live a happy life now. Now, we can tour around the world but have not yet overcome COVID-19 completely. Recently, the number of passengers wearing masks on public transportation in Tokyo reduced to some 25% but we should mind about it still. Please carry your mask to wear it where or when necessary (December 2024, Yamasan).

Mein erstes Mal in Deutschland war 2012, als ich Studentin war, und damals habe ich einen Monat in München einen Deutschkurs gemacht. Da habe ich viel erlebt und erfahrt und war total begeistert für die deutsche Kultur, Sitten, einfach alles, natürlich Leute auch :) Nach dem Studium bin ich nach Deutschland (München und Augsburg) geflogen, um richtig Deutsch zu lernen. In den Schulzeiten habe ich viele Erfahrungen in der Gastronomie gesammelt. In Deutschland habe ich als Kellnerin in einem japanischen Restaurant und Japanischlehrerin gearbeitet. “An Unforgettable Day in Kamakura – ask for Kaku!”
We booked the private nine-hour Kamakura Customized Day Tour through Stanley Trip Japan via GoWithGuide, and it was one of the absolute highlights of our entire trip. Our guide/driver Kaku was wonderful — professional, knowledgeable, and a genuine pleasure to spend the day with. Kamakura is such a magical destination, and having a full private day to explore it at our own pace made all the difference. We visited the iconic Great Buddha, which was truly awe-inspiring and exceeded all expectations, strolled through the beautiful Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, and made our way out to the charming island of Enoshima. Kaku guided us seamlessly through all of it, making sure our group of six could take everything in without feeling rushed. If you’re considering a day trip to Kamakura, don’t hesitate — this tour is absolutely worth it. And if you’re lucky enough to have Kokua as your guide, you’re in for a treat. Highly recommend Stanley Trip Japan for anyone visiting the Tokyo area!

“Seamless Airport Transfer – highly recommend!”
Stanley Trip Japan made our arrival in Tokyo completely stress-free. They arranged a private transfer from Narita Airport for our group of six, accommodating all of our luggage without any issues. “Not the last!”
This was my second guided tour with Chiaki, and I'm looking forward to it not being my last. She is a remarkable person, always happy to share her knowledge about her city.
