Kobe Harborland or JR Osaka station
You will visit Himeji Castle first and then have a casual local lunch there.
On the way back to Osaka/Kyoto, you'll stroll around in Kobe where you can feel an exotic old town atmosphere and enjoy the city view from Nunobiki Herb Garden while walking thru the beautiful garden park.
We will also visit the new and popular "BE KOBE" monument with others on the way to Harborland.
Harborland is known as the best spot for Kobe harbor night view with a street of various types of restaurants and few shopping malls. I recommend having a nice dinner such as Kobe beef in this area after the tour.
With additional hours, you can also choose to enjoy Hanshin Tigers baseball game at Koshien stadium - which could be most entertaining experience for you in Japan with the fans known as most exciting and energetic of all the 12 professional teams in Japan. (only during the baseball season)
This is a good tour for those who got "templed-out" in Kyoto and traveling long enough in Japan to see more modern side of Japan : )

FYI, JR fare from Osaka to Himeji is 1,490 yen, 970 yen from Himeji to Kobe, and 410 yen from Kobe to Osaka. Free with JR pass.

1. You will be walking a lot during the tour, so please wear comfortable walking shoes and clothes and bring an umbrella or poncho in case of rain.
2. Transportation fee and lunch/dinner for you and guide is not included. Even if you have a JR pass or IC card, you'll be asked to purchase tickets for the guide in cash. With the standard itinerary, the total transportation cost for this tour per person will be around 3,500 yen per person from Osaka without JR pass. With JR pass, it will be 660 yen. If you buy JR Kansai Area Pass for inbound tourists (2,300 yen/day per person), it will save 570 yen per person (not available for the guide).
3. Hanshin Tigers baseball game is held only during the professional baseball season (April-October). Ticket rates are ranged from 1,900 yen to 4,800 yen depending on seat location. You will be asked to pay for the tickets in advance for popular games such as against Tokyo Giants.

Seiko is an excellent knowledgeable guide with great English skills and attentive, intuitive sense of what we were interested in and spent more time guiding and explaining the historical and cultural significance of them. We had an optional day planned for Nara but learned from her about the islands in the Seto Inland Sea. She noted that we enjoyed the arts and suggested it as another option. A bonus from a professional that really knows the country!
My sister, niece and I spent three amazing days with Seiko. We had so much fun, we wanted to have more days! She is so full of knowledge about Japanese culture, food, history, and art. She navigated us swiftly and effortless around Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka, and showed us many hidden jewels we would have missed if we had been on our own. She is also super sweet, a great conversationalist, and a lot of fun. After Day 1, she already felt like a old family friend. We hope to see her again!!
