It took me some 20 years to be qualified for this job and I feel honored for being able to help tourists from abroad understand our nation and culture. Japan is a beautiful country with a long history, tradition and rich cultural heritages, having various features in each of the four distinct seasons. Although there are now many visitors from abroad, mainly from Asian countries, they are mostly interested in shopping taking advantage of cheaper yen rather than understanding our people and culture. Kyoto and Nara are the two cities best known by foreign tourists, but not all the aspects of Japanese culture are concentrated there. There you can enjoy a very famous shrine, Dazaifu Tenmangu, known as the home of " the god of literature or calligraphy." and Kyushu National Museum. Fukuoka is also a mecca for shopping and food. If you're coming to Fukuoka again, I recommend that you try local food, for example, Hakata Ramen-noodles in pork broth and locally caught fish. I can also take you to a traditional Japanese shopping arcade, Kawabata Shotengai. If you would like to get out of the city, we could go to Yanagawa, a town of canals, which is a one hour ride from the city center. You can try boat tours enjoying the leisurely view of the historic buildings and try Steamed Eel. Fukuoka travel tip: if you arrive in Fukuoka by JR, make sure to get off at "Hakata Station." Sorry, there's no "Fukuoka Station." on JR lines. Hakata is an old name for Fukuoka and your destination. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi! I am Kazue. I am from Fukuoka and live in the central city. I spent almost 20 years traveling around the world as a cabin attendant. “Bobby is Exceptionally Amazing”
Bobby was very responsive with contact prior to our tour and meet us at the cruise port promptly as promised. She took us on an incredible walking tour, showing us some of the best highlights. She was very flexible in planning our day to match our interests. Bobby even purchased tickets for the places we visited prior to our arrival so we could avoid long lines and waiting, making every moment of our time together pleasant. Her English is very clear and easy to understand. She has so much knowledge about Hakodate that she easily answered all of questions. We had 5 ports during our 10 day cruise and we ranked this tour #1. If you are visiting Hakodate and Bobby is available you should consider yourself Lucky. “Repeat Customer ”
Well, how does working with Atsuko two years in a row sound as far as a recommendation :) I commented last year how it felt more like walking around with a friend who knew everything about the area we were touring. I had to remember it was a guided tour. Last year was a one 4 hour tour. This year I booked two 4 hour tours and couldn’t be happier. I think what I like most is how willing Atsuko is to join in on activities. Granted for me that’s typically eating, but whether it’s street food or lunch Atsuko is just one more person at the table, trying street food or playing at the cat cafe. I suppose everyone has a different idea of what a guide should offer, but for me forgetting your guide is a guide but a friend exploring and experiencing everything with you … well, that’s my description of a great tour guide! I can’t recommend Atsuko highly enough if my version of success matches your idea of what a guide should offer. (The red rain coat was great for not getting lost in the crowds!)
