My name is Miyu. I have been a Nationally Licensed Guide Interpreter since 2009. I began my career as a tourist guide last year after working as a public servant for nearly four decades. I worked in the Atomic Bomb Survivors Support Division for 12 years until I retired from the local government, and I continue to interact with Hibakusha. Therefore, I have a lot of knowledge about A-bomb survivors, the reconstruction of Hiroshima, and the effects of radiation on the human body, which I can correctly convey to inbound visitors. I have experience in tea ceremonies and calligraphy and am especially good at guiding visitors through tea ceremony experiences. For the past almost 10 years, I have mainly guided foreign medical professionals around Hiroshima City and Miyajima, gaining a deep understanding of the effects of radiation and the support for A-bomb survivors. Hiroshima is a city of rivers and the sea. Along the rivers Cherry trees line, and the calm Seto Inland Sea, dotted with islands, creates a stunning landscape. Also, the sea has many islands called "art islands" which have fantastic arts relating to the art festival "Setoushi Triennale". In addition to our two World Heritage Sites, this area is rich in attractive resources. I hope many of you will come and experience this fascinating land. “All I want to say is: Thank you!”
The day with Kahori could not have been better. She is such a kind and delightful woman, and she was able to answer all of my many questions, so that our time together simply flew by. For me, an absolute recommendation to anyone considering taking this tour with her. Dear Kahori, I truly enjoyed the time we spent together. I would especially like to thank you for your knowledgeable, warm, and ever-considerate presence at the Peace Museum. You were always there, yet gracefully remained in the background, allowing me to move at my own pace and fully absorb the deeply moving moments of this human tragedy. I noticed and appreciated this more than I can say, and I will always be grateful to you for it. The second part of the day on Miyajima, by contrast, felt light and relaxed—like spending time with an old friend. I value that greatly and thank you from the bottom of my heart. “Very Informative Tour of Miyajiima”
We met Miyu on the island for an afternoon tour. The tour was very well paced and she showed us many sites on the Island and gave a lot of history which we did not know. She is patient and let us take pictures. She answered all our questions and it was great that it was just us and not a 20 person tour. I highly recommend Miyu and here Half-Day Island tour.

“An amazing day!”
What an amazing guide! Kazumi met us promptly and with a smile. Her stories about Nagasaki from her own life really brought the city to life. She was attentive to us and kept things fun for our small child. She made sure we made it back to the cruise ship on time and with amazing stories to tell.
