Emiko M.

Hi, I am Emiko, Hiroshima Prefectural Government Licensed Guide Interpreter. I was born and raised in Hiroshima, and I love sharing the history, culture, and everyday life of this beautiful region with visitors from around the world. As the child of an A-bomb survivor, Hiroshima's history is deeply personal to me. I believe that sharing its story of tragedy, resilience, and hope for peace is at the heart of my guiding. In addition to Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park and Museum, I also enjoy introducing visitors to the beauty of Miyajima, Hiroshima Castle, Shukkein Garden, and other local treasures. I tailor each tour to your interests, whether history, culture, food, or daily life. I always hope that our guests will take away lots of positive energy from Hiroshima, a city that was resilient and revived like a phoenix, in spite of its sad history. While realizing customers' wishes, I will introduce you the beauty of Hiroshima, Miyajima and so on, which are tranquil and peaceful places with a unique charm that cannot be found in big cities. I am happy to answer any questions about things Japanese. I'll do everything to the best of my ability to make your trip enjoyable and fruitful. I look forward to welcoming you and making your visit truly memorable!

Hello, welcome to my profile! I'm Keiko (Kay). As a national certified guide deeply passionate about the rich history, culture, and natural beauty of this area, I am eager to share these experiences with you. With over 16 years of experience living abroad, mostly in Europe, I've had the privilege of immersing myself in diverse cultures and meeting incredible people from around the world. I'm sociable, outgoing and love making new connections wherever I go. I'm also very active, enjoying sports like badminton, biking, jogging, and dancing, especially zumba and salsa. On top of that, I've been playing the piano for over *xx years, a passion that brings balance to my life. (The reason XX is simply because I hesitate to disclose my age...) Health and nutrition are important to me, as is the same to everyone, and I love exploring new ways to stay healthy and enjoy good food! Our itinerary will take us through some of the most iconic landmarks, as well as a few hidden gems that only locals know about. Whether you’re interested in exploring ancient architecture, indulging in the local cuisine, or learning about the fascinating history that has shaped this place, I am here to tailor the tour to your interests. Would I be a good fit for your company here in Hiroshima? Warm regards, Keiko(Kay)

My name is Miyu. I am a Nationally Licensed Guide Interpreter. I began my career as a tourist guide after working as a public servant for nearly four decades. I worked in the Atomic Bomb Survivors Support Division for 12 years until I retired from the local government, and I continue to interact with Hibakusha. Therefore, I have a lot of knowledge about A-bomb survivors, the reconstruction of Hiroshima, and the effects of radiation on the human body. Discover Hiroshima beyond the guidebooks. With my background in local government and years of involvement in support for atomic bomb survivors, I offer thoughtful, personalized tours that explore not only Hiroshima's tragic past but also its recovery, resilience, and hopes for peace. Hi! Do you want to explore the real Japanese town where most tourists never get to see? Of course, I can guide you through famous places like the Peace Park and Miyajima. But my favorite experience is taking people to a hidden local town just 10 minutes from Hiroshima Station — a place where samurai once stayed, where everyday Japanese life still quietly exists, and where you might even naturally meet and talk with local Japanese people. I’ve lived in this town for more than 20 years, so I accidentally became a local Hiroshima expert xD Because I actually run these tours regularly, I know how to create experiences that feel personal, authentic, and memorable — not just another sightseeing checklist. Many guests tell me the tour became one of the most meaningful parts of their trip to Japan. If you want more than “tourist Japan,” I’d love to show you the real one.

“Excellent guide”

Our tour in Hiroshima with Kate was excellent. She is professional, knowledgeable, and she has a great personality. Kate provided great insight on the history of Hiroshima, the memorial park, and its monuments. The took us to the Orizuru Tower adjacent the atomic dome and taught us to make paper cranes which are especially meaningful in Hiroshima. The overview from the tower really provides a sense of the city before, after and at the time of the blast. Kate left us to tour the inside of the peace memorial museum on our own, as there is no speaking permitted around the exhibits. She then took us for lunch to sample a classic Hiroshima Okonomiyaki - a griddle cooked pancake/omelette with noodles, cabbage, and other optional ingredients. She then showed us around the central shopping area before we parted ways. Thank you Kate for making the tour a memorable and meaningful experience!!

Kate M.

Thank you so much for your kind words, David! I really enjoyed spending the day with you both. Your knowledge of history, politics and art made our conversations so interesting, and I learned a lot from you too. It means a lot to me that you enjoyed the tour. Hiroshima and Osaka Okonomiyaki are very different, so if you get the chance, please give the Osaka style a try too! I hope you have a wonderful rest of your trip! Kind regards, Kate
