My name is Miyu. I have been a Nationally Licensed Guide Interpreter since 2009. I began my career as a tourist guide last year after working as a public servant for nearly four decades. I worked in the Atomic Bomb Survivors Support Division for 12 years until I retired from the local government, and I continue to interact with Hibakusha. Therefore, I have a lot of knowledge about A-bomb survivors, the reconstruction of Hiroshima, and the effects of radiation on the human body, which I can correctly convey to inbound visitors. Hiroshima is a city of rivers and the sea. Along the rivers Cherry trees line, and the calm Seto Inland Sea, dotted with islands, creates a stunning landscape. Also, the sea has many islands called "art islands" which have fantastic arts relating to the art festival "Setoushi Triennale". In addition to our two World Heritage Sites, this area is rich in attractive resources. I hope many of you will come and experience this fascinating land. Rika is kind, thoughtful, and serene. She made our day go extremely well, for our group of four people. Rika is a considered communicator, and we are grateful for her humanity, modesty and kindness.
