Gion is the area of entertainment, where there are many bars and taverns. Some important business and political talks have been conducted. You may run across Maiko and Geiko, Japanese entertainers in kimono. If you want to wear Japanese costume in Gion, I can arrange with extra charge. NIshiki market is the kitchen of the Kyoro, where local people buy their everyday food. Fish stores, vegetable stores, pickles stores and so on. A friend of mine owns a Yuba shop in the market. “A Wonderful Kyoto Day with Mr. Makoto”
Our tour with Mr. Makoto was fantastic. He guided us through Kyoto’s historic sites with knowledge, warmth, and genuine kindness. He was especially patient and engaging with our 7-year-old, pointing out fun details at each temple and helping him collect colorful fall leaves. He brought us to a quiet, beautiful spot in Arashiyama for lunch—one we never would have found on our own. It truly felt like exploring Kyoto with a friend. Highly recommend. His kindness is priceless.

“Jam packed Kyoto day trip”
Thanks to Fumi for a very fun Kyoto day trip. It was a super busy day but Fumi altered the plans as needed to accomodate the crowds and 2 children with us. Highly recommended and we couldn’t have seen everything we wanted in the short time we had without her.
