You may run across Maiko and Geiko, Japanese entertainers in kimono. If you want to wear Japanese costume in Gion, I can arrange with extra charge. NIshiki market is the kitchen of the Kyoro, where local people buy their everyday food. Fish stores, vegetable stores, pickles stores and so on. A friend of mine owns a Yuba shop in the market. “More hidden wonders around Kyoto”
Our first with Nikki san was so good we had to go back! Nikki san curated a second full day tour for us around the hidden gems & not touristy Kyoto & surrounds. This tim we rafted with the Rock star boatmen on the Hozugawa River, rode the Sagano Romantic train, visited the Unesco listed Daigo-ji Sambo-intemple & former Shogun residence complete with the oldest 5 story Pagoda in Kyoto. Nikki san was a wonderful host, guide and companion for both our days with her. We are massivley impressed & hugely gratful for her knowledge, experience & skill in creating both our days & filling them with unique, amazing and exciting experiences. Highly recommended, unfortunately there are not more than 5 stars. Kindest regards Drew & Annie
