Gion is the area of entertainment, where there are many bars and taverns. Some important business and political talks have been conducted. You may run across Maiko and Geiko, Japanese entertainers in kimono. If you want to wear Japanese costume in Gion, I can arrange with extra charge. NIshiki market is the kitchen of the Kyoro, where local people buy their everyday food. Fish stores, vegetable stores, pickles stores and so on. A friend of mine owns a Yuba shop in the market. “Amazing day trip to Arashiyama with super guide!”
We booked this amazing walk to discover this wonderful nature on the outskirts of Kyoto. “Kyoto, Nijo, Golden Pavilion and gardens.”
Tomoe was an really great guide for our Kyoto day trip. She was kind, knowledgeable and thoughtful. Her historic knowledge was excellent and she gave us much insight into Japanese life in general, both past and present. It was as if we were on an outing with a wise friend. “A very full one day introduction to Kyoto”
We thoroughly enjoyed our day with Yumi in Kyoto. We were only there for a short time but Yumi made every moment count. We walked, talked, asked many questions and enjoyed a fine meal together. The city is large so we did take taxis to many sites so you need to add those costs to the price of the tour but there is no way to have seen and done as much without transportation. Yumi is a delight. Highly recommended.
