Shonosuke S.
Hi! I'm Sho! I live in the center of Nagasaki city and work as a YouTuber, podcaster, and tour guide specializing in sharing the charms of Nagasaki. Actually, I was born and raised in Yokohama, near Tokyo, and worked for about 5 years in Tokyo. However, I fell in love with the culture and history of Nagasaki and moved here in 2020. Nagasaki has a rich history of international exchange and friendship, established about 450 years ago as an international trading port in Japan. Since then, many people from all over the world with diverse cultures and values have visited this city. I love these stories and histories of Nagasaki. Nagasaki is often associated with the sad history of the atomic bomb, which is, of course, an important part of this city's history, but Nagasaki has much more than that. I'm looking forward to introducing you to the many charms of Nagasaki!

Hi there! I’m Armand. Living in Nagasaki since 2016. I am living a most relaxing life on my permaculture homestead in the hills of Nagasaki, where you get the best views in Japan. I love my town. As a dancer and actor I love telling stories too. And there are so many great stories to share about all the interesting people that once dwelled in this adventurous town full of historical intrigues. Want to experience the rich Nagasaki culture? Eat the freshest fish of Japan? Make the most beautiful photos of hidden treasures and landscapes? Come and explore the town together with me. I’ve made it my mission to get to know everything there is to know about this place.

Hi, I’m glad you found my page! I’m a local guide based in Kyushu who loves sharing the region’s history, food, and landscapes in a relaxed and friendly way. Think of me as someone who can make your trip comfortable and memorable, while keeping things easygoing and fun. I began guiding to share the history, scenery, and food of my home with visitors from around the world. Before this, I worked in luxury retail, where I learned how important details and genuine hospitality are. Now I bring that same spirit to my tours, making sure every guest feels comfortable, cared for, and free to enjoy their journey. I specialize in private car tours around Kyushu, so you don’t have to worry about train schedules or carrying luggage. We can stop where you like, take things at your own pace, and enjoy the scenery along the way. Onboard you’ll have free Wi-Fi, music, and a comfortable ride—perfect for families, couples, or friends who want both convenience and a touch of luxury. Some of my favorite places to share are: Nagasaki: Peace Park, Atomic Bomb Museum, and the city’s cultural blend Fukuoka: Dazaifu Shrine, city highlights, and Yanagawa’s river cruise with eel dishes Kumamoto: Mt. Aso’s volcanic views, Kumamoto Castle, and Kurokawa Onsen Oita: Hita’s riverside town, plus Beppu and Yufuin hot springs Saga: Arita’s ceramics and the Yoshinogari ancient site Takachiho Gorge: A mystical canyon tied to Japanese legends What I enjoy most is helping guests discover both famous sights and hidden corners of Kyushu, while keeping the experience comfortable and stress-free. Whether you’re drawn to culture, food, history, or beautiful scenery, I can adjust the plan to match your style. I’d love to share my part of Japan with you and create memories that last long after your trip. If you have any questions or requests, please feel free to send me a message. I look forward to welcoming you to Kyushu and showing you what makes this region so special!

In 2025, it's the 3rd year as a private tour guide. I speak English and German a little. My hobbies are knitting, handicrafts of earrings and keychains, writing & reading novels in Japanese, and searching for good cafes. Next year, I'm about starting to garden for vegetables and harbs. The main place of a tour is Nagasaki city, including the war hisotory spots. I'd like to guide you to the cities of Sasebo, Saikai, and Unzen, too, if you hope. But I don't have a driving lisence, so transport while your tour is necessary. I'm good at a family tour for your young kids, too. I like kids, so I'd like to suggest some ideas for their playing in the Nagasaki prefecture.

Hi! I'm Moe. I work as a tour guide and Japanese teacher. I grew up in Nagasaki and live in the centre of the city now, but until last year I was teaching Japanese at a university in Ecuador. Because of that I also speak some Spanish. I love watching football, fishing and travelling. I visited to many countries and regions as a tourist. If you want the best food experience in Nagasaki, I am your personal specialist. I am also a third-generation of the Atomic Bomb survivor. If you want to learn about the history of peace in Nagasaki, I will share the stories I heard directly from my grandfather. If you have any questions, you can contact me at any time for anything. I look forward to making your trip the best it can be.

Hi there, I'm Yuki. Originally from Tokyo, moved to Goto islands , Nagasaki in 2019. I'm a christian (protestant), and that brought me to live here, the island with the history of Japanese hidden christians. I'm passionate with meeting new people from different backgrounds, which is why I have multiple types of businesses(a mucician, a chef, a spearfisher, an interpreter, and a guide). I'm probably a typical islander who is easygoing, relaxing, and enjoy doing multiple things based on the random things happening in this island. Before we settled down here, my wife and I have traveled over 30 countries for 2 years with a crowdfunded project. I'm also a learner of multiple languages, Italian (conversational), Spanish and Korean(novice). I try to be as flexible as possible, based on guests' requests. I could guide other than Goto, but in that case I would have to ask guests to cover my transportations fee(as you may not know, from/to Goto islands-Nagasaki city, it takes 1-3 hours by ferry or airplane.) Please feel free to message me! I'm hoping your trip to be unforgettable.

I am fascinated by the rich history and culture of the city of Nagasaki and the surrounding area and I take great pleasure in introducing people to what is one of the most unique locations in the world. It is a place of dreams, ambitions, tragedies, resilience and physical beauty. As a resident of Nagasaki for over 40 years and a professor at a university, I have had decades of experience guiding foreign guests around the city and other locations near the city. I have also guided my Japanese students on cultural trips to the U.S., Canada and the U.K. around 20 times. In addition, I have decades of experience conducting courses and lectures on Nagasaki history, Japanese society, Japanese history and contemporary Japanese literature. Although I greatly enjoy encouraging learning and experiences on others, I also thrive on continuing to learn more and every tour is a rewarding experience for me as well.

Nagasaki City Highlights Tour
This tour introduces you to the main tourist locations in the city. The first, Suwa Shrine, is cultural. It is the main shrine and the spiritual heart of the community. The rest are historical, spanning Nagasaki's founding as trading port and Christian safe haven, the crackdown on foreigners and Christianity, Japan's isolation, and finally the tragedy of the Atomic Bombing. Because I will use my car, we can experience more sites with less exertion, more privacy, and a better chances to talk.

Nagasaki Tour Reviews

“Highly recommended!”
As a solo traveler who doesn't speak Japanese, a great guide is a godsent. Yuki did her outmost to make my time in Nagasaki a memorable experience and took extra care to cater to my preferences. She is one of those rare people that make you instantly relax when you meet her. We had a great dinner at the habour of Nagasaki before going up to mount Inasa to look out on a night-lit city. Yuki was so easy to talk to and really sociable the whole time.

“One of the best days of our Japan trip”
We had been to Nagasaki on a cruise 2 years ago and had seen the A-bomb sites, taken the Mt. Inasa ropeway to the Observatory and visited Glover Garden. So this time we wanted to see local life in Nagasaki and Sho was the abolutely perfect guide for that. Sho met us at the cruise terminal and we hopped in a taxi to go up into the hills to the Suwa Shrine. First we walked through the neighborhood where Sho lives, even stopping by his house, as he told us about life there. At the shrine, we happened upon a special performance of music and dance. This was apparently sponsored by another cruise ship that was also in Port as an excursion for their guests, but Sho had known about it so we got this nice surprise treat! We also met one of his friends who is a geisha, dressed beautifully for this event. We enjoyed the walk in this area, edpecially as Sho planned it so we were going downhill. Most of the places we went were not filled with tourists and crowds so we got to experience more of local life. Kofukuji temple was beautiful and we had a relaxing stop for matcha in peaceful surroundings. The observation deck at City hall provided great views with only a handful of other visitors - a few toddlers from the local nursery school. Sho took us to a place for delicious ramen, strolled us through local shopping streets and Chinatown, helped me find some high quality sencha green tea, and engaged us is interesting conversation throughout the day. As my husband said, this day we got to see the real Japan. And in the company of a fun, friendly, delightful young man.
