“Excellent walking tour of Nagasaki with Armando”
We had a fantastic walking tour of Nagasaki with our guide, Armando. He was incredibly knowledgeable, full of fascinating historical facts, and explained the city’s unique role as Japan’s gateway to the world with real clarity. We learnt about the influence of the Dutch, British, and Portuguese, as well as the politics of the shoguns, all while exploring the many “firsts” that began here in Nagasaki. Armando’s passion for history and storytelling kept us engaged throughout, even as we walked over 10,000 steps up and down the hills of this remarkable city. By the end of the day our legs were tired, but our minds were buzzing with everything we had discovered. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to understand Nagasaki’s unique vibe and rich history.

Thank you so much for visiting Nagasaki! You were such wonderful people to hang out with:-) I wish you many interesting travels for many years to come. And if you ever have the chance again to pass by, I will show you the other half of Nagasaki. Best wishes!

“Fantastic Time in Nagasaki and Goto Islands with Hero”
Hero listened to what I wanted and always gave me several options to choose from. His responses to my endless questions were prompt and thorough. His descriptions of cultural elements of Japanese society, culture, history, economy, spirituality, customs and language were helpful and insightful. His English was excellent, outlook positive and tailored even willing to make last minute changes upon request. Also he is a good driver. Made my trip so much more fun, interesting , meaningful and memorable than I ever imagined

Hello Laura, Thank you very much for the overwhelmingly great review of my guiding and tour last 4 days in Nagasaki city and the Goto Islands. I was worried about the weather every day, but we luckily used rain gear only one day. I was surprised that you are so healthy and tough physically. Especially on the Goto tour, I was drenched in sweat every day while hiking. I was surprised at how tough you were, even though elder than me. I hope this was a good warm-up for hiking the Kumano Kodo trail. I hope to see you in the future again.

“Greater than I can even put in words”
I will start by saying that I am a travel agent and have very high standards as I work for luxury clients. This trip was for my own family of 19 people. 5 kids were under 4 years old. We arrived on a 13 hour time difference. You could imagine we were not an easy group for him, nor are we easy to please. Sho was a shining star both before and during our tour. In all the other cities we visited communication with guides was very difficult. He communicated regularly with me prior to the trip and answered all my questions quickly. Sho was quick, efficient, had good ideas, executed the day flawlessly, flipped between the sensitive subject of Nagasaki and the vibrant, fun part easily, and just simply made this our best day on an 18-day trip. He worked well with the pressure of young kids crying, had the foresight to figure out quickly who was interested in what and made sure that all 19 got what they wanted. I know this is not easy, yet he made it seem like it was second nature to him. I cannot find words to give him a high enough referral. Just know that when you can take 19 people with varying interests, lugging along 5 kids under 4 years old who are jet lagged, all while in extreme heat, you are doing everything right. And that was exactly what Sho did! Thank you Sho, we will remember our day with you with fondness forever. Sincerely, Staci Thomas and Family

Hi Staci, thank you so much for your kind review and for visiting Nagasaki, the city I truly love! It was such a hot day, and with all the stairs and hills in Nagasaki I know it must have been tough for everyone. But the reason we were able to enjoy the tour was thanks to your family’s warmth and kindness. I honestly feel that I should be the one thanking you—for the gracious and joyful way your whole family welcomed me and made me feel like part of your trip. I truly hope you’ll come back to Nagasaki again someday—there are still so many beautiful spots and hidden corners I’d love to share with you. Until then, please give my warmest regards to your entire family!
