Being a former student and staff member of the University of Tokyo, I have a natural ability to communicate with people from all corners of the world. Regardless of whether you prefer to speak English, French, or Globish with me ! I have practiced Aikido, Iaido (Katana), and Kyudo (Bow) martial arts, and I have also worked on the restoration of Japanese armor. Therefore, I am well-versed in the art of war in ancient Japan. But my passion for history goes further, and during my guided tours, I will share various anecdotes that will bring ancient Japan to life for you ! I'm also a huge fan of old Japanese video games, especially RPGs, so if you want a true otaku experience, follow me to Nakano Broadway and Akihabara! If you're interested in arranging a tour that's tailored to your preferences, feel free to send me a message !

I’m so excited to have a chance to show you around my favorite spots in Kanagawa prefecture. I was born in Kanagawa. I spent my whole school life, including university, here in Kanagawa. I worked as a high school English teacher here for more than 40 years. I love Kanagawa so much. We have many interesting tourist spots, like Hakone, Kamakura, Enoshima and Yokohama. I got my tour guide license in English in 2009. I am still an English teacher. To give an interesting and impressive lesson to young high school students, I’ve learnt and gathered many kinds of information. I also have a license to teach social studies, so I have a wide range of knowledge about Japanese culture and history. I’m sure to provide you an interesting tour.

Hi, I am Hiromi, a National licensed guide in English. I studied in England and U.S. during my 20s and 30s. I graduated college in NY. While I lived in overseas and experiencing different culture, I had chances to look at Japanese culture from the outside. And I realized its richness and uniqueness. Experiencing different culture was like discovering my own culture. I live west part of Tokyo with my husband. Whenever we have time we like traveling. Also I have been practicing tea gathering (tea ceremony) about 10 years. In Tokyo, there exist traditional culture as well as pop culture. There are so many places I would like to show you. It’s my pleasure to introduce you exquisite part of Tokyo. Let’ enjoy exploring TOKYO with me! I’m looking forward to sharing memorable experience with you.

Camille L.

Once upon a time in Asakusa: Handicraft & Samurai
The Edo period, when Tokyo became the capital, is often seen as the peak of Japanese art and culture! Temple architecture, woodworking, woodblock prints, porcelain... I will use traditional handicrafts to illustrate the history and lifestyle of the people of Tokyo. Who were the samurai? What difference with a Ninja? How were armors crafted? I am also going to teach you all you need to know about those fierce warriors in front of a large collection of authentic weapons & armors.

Tokyo,Now &Then
Tokyo is a modern metropolitan city built on an ancient Edo, where Tokugawa samurai government was settled. Even now we can find old relics of ancient Edo among truly modern Tokyo streets. Asakusa, Ueno and the Imperial Palace itself are some of the examples. Let’s explore Tokyo with me and find the soul of Japan.

Tokyo Tour Reviews
Sue L.
“ The Best Decision We Made for Our First Day in Japan”
My husband and I booked a personalised half-day tour with Shusaku M for our first day in Japan, and it was one of the best decisions we made for our trip. From the moment we met him, Shusaku M was friendly, warm, approachable and incredibly knowledgeable. He spoke excellent English, answered every question we had with patience, and created a relaxed environment where we felt comfortable asking absolutely anything. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Rather than taking us to tourist traps, Shusaku M listened to what we wanted and introduced us to the local side of Tokyo. He gave us a wonderful introduction to the Nakano area, showed us some fantastic little places to eat, and helped us gain confidence using the train system, particularly the JR lines. He also helped us set up our Suica cards and provided great recommendations for places to visit during the rest of our stay. Most importantly, he gave us the confidence to navigate Tokyo on our own. The very next day, we were able to use the train system independently with minimal stress and successfully make our way back to our hotel! We genuinely feel lucky to have found such a kind, personable and professional guide for our first day in Japan. Shusaku M made what could have been an overwhelming experience feel easy, enjoyable and exciting. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a local guide who is knowledgeable, patient, non-judgemental and genuinely invested in helping visitors have a great experience in Japan. Thank you, Shusaku M for helping us start our Japanese adventure on such a positive note. Sue & Geoff

Thank you so much, Sue & Geoff, for your wonderful review! It was truly a pleasure meeting you both and being part of your first day in Japan. I’m delighted to hear that the tour helped you feel more confident using the train system and exploring Tokyo on your own. Thank you for your kindness, enthusiasm, and for trusting me to introduce you to Tokyo. It means a lot to know that I could help make the beginning of your Japan trip enjoyable and stress-free. Enjoy the rest of your trip in Japan, and I hope to see you again on your next visit! ArigatoGozaimasu!!! Shusaku

Melody is a fantastic guide! Our family had the most amazing day with him in Tokyo. His personality, his English skills, and his knowledge of Japanese history makes him a great fit. We cannot recommend Melody enough. You will not be disappointed. Arigatou gozaimasu Melody!!!

Joe, thank you so much for the wonderful review and photos! I’ve been thinking about the countless fun memories I shared with your family—like the 7-Eleven onigiri and the beautiful bonsai at Meiji shrine. What made me laugh the most was our lunch in Asakusa. I wanted everyone in the family to try the minced fatty tuna rice bowl, but before anyone else had the chance, you finished all by yourself! That was such a hilarious moment, and I’ll never forget it. I hope our paths cross again someday. Until then, I wish you and your family all the best! Arigato!!

“2 days Tokyo sightseeing with Yuki”
Yuki was wonderful organising a 2-day tour for us (transport, ticket entry and food stops were seamless). He was flexible and informative about all our sites: Shibuya Sky Observatory, Meiji Shrine, Asakusa/Senso-ji Temple, Tsukiji Outer Market, Team Lab Borderless and Imperial Palace Gardens. Would highly recommend.
