Travelling is a great thing to do. Learning about other cultures and customs expands our perspectives in life. I would like to share with you Japanese culture and history. First, please allow me to introduce myself. I’m a full-time national licensed tour guide. I studied Japanese Art History when I was a student at a university, Tokyo. I experienced working at multinational companies for more than 20 years and worked as a travel coordinator for years. I have been conducting private tours around Tokyo for more than 200 times and received excellent reviews from my guests. I usually offer a tailor-made tour upon the request of my customers. One thing that I love to do is letting my guests experience the old things and modern things in Tokyo. I have been providing tours to major sightseeing spots, including Asakusa, Imperial Palace, Meiji Shrine, Ginza, Shibuya, etc. As one of my hobbies is appreciation of Art works, I specialize art tours visiting traditional and contemporary art galleries. Everyone loves Tokyo. The people are polite, the food is incredible, the cultural heritage sites are stunning, and the shopping is one of the best in the world. So I'm sure that your stay here will be memorable and fun. Let’s enjoy Tokyo together.

I’m so excited to have a chance to show you around my favorite spots in Kanagawa prefecture. I was born in Kanagawa. I spent my whole school life, including university, here in Kanagawa. I worked as a high school English teacher here for 40 years. I love Kanagawa so much. We have many interesting tourist spots, like Hakone, Kamakura, Enoshima and Yokohama. I got my tour guide license in English in 2009. I am still an English teacher. To give an interesting and impressive lesson to young high school students, I’ve learnt and gathered many kinds of information. I also have a license to teach social studies, so I have a wide range of knowledge about Japanese culture and history. I’m sure to provide you an interesting tour.

Hi! Welcome to Japan. My name is Shoji Kitamura, a licensed English-speaking tour guide. Please call me Shoji that is the same sound as a sliding screen made of wood and paper you may have seen in a traditional Japanese room. I was born and raised in Yokohama next to Tokyo but lived for work in several beautiful and historical cities such as Nikko, Hiroshima, and Ise which have world heritage sites and/or national park. I fully enjoyed the nature, culture and lives in each city where I lived. I retired after 36 years with a national research institute of fisheries in 2016. During my career, I visited 5 continents except Antarctica, more than 20 nations for attending international scientific conferences, conducting collaborative research or teaching some technologies, etc. In Japan, I often took foreign scientists and government officers sightseeing. I had great times in these opportunities. Such experiences made me decide to become a licensed English-speaking guide interpreter after retirement to introduce Japanese nature, culture, foods, etc. properly to many tourists coming to Japan from all over the world. For more than 20 years I’ve been living in Nikko, which is located about 150km north of Tokyo, and designated as a World Heritage site and a National Park. If you consider a day trip from Tokyo, I strongly recommend coming to Nikko by 2-hour train ride from Tokyo. I am looking forward to showing you around in this historical and beautiful town. Besides Nikko, I can also guide you in Yokohama, my home town, and in neighboring city such as Tokyo and Kamakura.

Good Experience

We had a pleasant experience with Sun who was our driver. He was patient. We were lucky that we were assigned Sun, with no issue on communications. He was always on standby while we were shopping. As my mum was on wheelchair, Sun will always help us brought up and down the wheelchair from the mini bus. We were assigned with a minibus and hence, plenty of space to put our luggage and also shopping stuff. Yao who was our contact point before our visit was very prompt in reply to my enquires and arrangement. Overall, we are happy with everything and definitely will engage their service again if we go to Tokyo.

An amazing tour of Tokyo with Aki.

This is our first trip to Japan. Honestly, I was bit apprehensive, not knowing the language, big city, etc. However, we couldn't have done better. Aki was the key to a fabulous time. He gave us a good overview the city and in instances he went above and beyond to help us out or direct us to the right sources. We consider himour friend and highly recommend him to anyone visiting Tokyo.

A taste of Tokyo

Keiko is a kind and generous guide. Quietly spoken and very knowledgeable about the history of Japan and the intricacies of Japanese food and lifestyle. I would never have discovered so much on my own. For instance, it is one thing to visit the Tsukiji fish markets, but to have a detailed description by Keiko, of the food and fish products, made the experience so much more meaningful. For the first time I ate a Japanese Bento Box for lunch and knew exactly what I was eating and how the food was prepared. Thank you Keiko for a wonderful day. You were like a friend to me. I would not hesitate to recommend Keiko as your Guide for Tokyo.

Amazing informative tsukiji tour

Yukiko was amazing guide. She was attentive, good communication and very knowledgeable. My mother couldn't walk much due to arthritis, she even brought portable stool along, just incase. She was also really good with my little girl. Highly recommend Yukiko as a tour guide. We learnt so much about the market, and the way of the Japanese food. Thank you Yukiko.
