I worked for a machinery company as a project manager and engineer for mechanical and electrical construction projects both domestic and overseas for over 35 years. I recall my first overseas project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia when I was 26, and the second was in Singapore. I visited many countries for surveys, meetings, commissioning, project handing over, and so on. In 2014 at the age of 60, I decided to retire from the company and live the expected further 30 years of life with a new career and experiences. I, then, studied translation and guide interpretation. I passed the national examination for licensed guides (English) in 2015 and registered with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in February 2016. Until now, I have been guiding many beautiful guests mainly to popular sightseeing spots such as Asakusa, Tsukiji, Omote-Sando, Meiji Jingu Shrine, and Tokyo Skytree, and also cultural experiences of Origami making, Furoshiki wrapping, and Sushi cooking. I am happy that I can freely arrange a customized tour together with you, or can propose my tours to you. I want to show you some parts of daily Tokyo life and introduce you to Bunkyo City which is located in the heart of Tokyo, just north of Chiyoda City where the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station are. The city is Tokyo’s typical residential and academic area where I was born, grew up, and live a happy life now. Now, we can tour around the world but have not yet overcome COVID-19 completely. Recently, the number of passengers wearing masks on public transportation in Tokyo reduced to some 25% but we should mind about it still. Tokyo Must-See Places One-Day Tour

“Excellent full day!”

We had a fantastic day in Tokyo with Dai. There was not a question about the city or about Japanese culture that he could not answer. We learned so much in one day that we would have never been able to otherwise! He showed us a perfect mix between historic sites and modern neighborhoods. We highly recommend Dai as a guide.

Numazu Heritage & Hakone Scenic Tour

“Shunta helped plan a great trip; Kody and Masa helped execute it”

My husband and I booked a private tour to visit sites in Numazu connected with my family history, with a possible stop in Hakone. Shunta helped plan a great itinerary but became ill last minute—yet he arranged for Kota (Kody) and Masato (Masa) to take care of us so we didn’t have to cancel. They were wonderful! Kody went above and beyond, calling ahead to temples so we could have meaningful conversations about my family, and Masa was a safe, friendly driver. They even found us a fantastic seafood spot at Numazu Port and managed to fit in a quick visit to Hakone’s floating torii. A truly special and memorable day thanks to Kody and Masa!

the second day of the customized tours

“A unique experience. ! ”

This was our second day with Tako and my husbands birthday so we had corresponded online before hand to arrange something a bit different . We wanted to experience a traditional Japanese tea ceremony and Taka organised that as well as suggesting we wear kimonos to the ceremony and had a photo shoot !!!! Whilst a bit nervous ( at our age) to do the latter , it was a lot of fun and we have some great photos to take away with us….. also saw the wonderful Sensi-ji temple, went up the Tokyo tower and had lunch at a back street non tourist restaurant where they cooked the food o n our table in front of us ! What a day ! Thank you so much Taka. You have been a wonderful guide and we truly loved meeting you . Best wishes to you for the future . We hope to meet again one day . Caroline and Paul williams
