My name is Miyu. I have been a Nationally Licensed Guide Interpreter since 2009. I began my career as a tourist guide last year after working as a public servant for nearly four decades. I worked in the Atomic Bomb Survivors Support Division for 12 years until I retired from the local government, and I continue to interact with Hibakusha. Therefore, I have a lot of knowledge about A-bomb survivors, the reconstruction of Hiroshima, and the effects of radiation on the human body, which I can correctly convey to inbound visitors. I have experience in tea ceremonies and calligraphy and am especially good at guiding visitors through tea ceremony experiences. I love to watch baseball games, so I enjoy talking about them with guests from countries where they are popular. For the past almost 10 years, I have mainly guided foreign medical professionals around Hiroshima City and Miyajima, gaining a deep understanding of the effects of radiation and the support for A-bomb survivors. Hiroshima is a city of rivers and the sea. Along the rivers Cherry trees line, and the calm Seto Inland Sea, dotted with islands, creates a stunning landscape. Also, the sea has many islands called "art islands" which have fantastic arts relating to the art festival "Setoushi Triennale". In addition to our two World Heritage Sites, this area is rich in attractive resources. I hope many of you will come and experience this fascinating land. “better without”
I don't usually write bad reviews, I probably never did before. I don't want to be rude, but I have to express an objective opinion. Assuming that everything could have been done without a guide, unfortunately doing the day with Hideo was a hindrance. Difficult communication, no WhatsApp, tour date error, route error. And as if that wasn't enough, despite having checked the weather forecast, he took us to the top of the MIYAJIMA ropeway at the worst time of the day. When there was nothing else to do but immediately get back on the cable car to go back down, with 30 minutes of queueing and wasted money. At least he should settle for a more reasonable salary, given the poor conditions he can offer. Instead, in addition to the expensive daily rate he's asking for, he also wants reimbursement for his train fare to the meeting point, from where he lives (Kobe). For us, it was the only bad experience of our trip to Japan. Choose another.
