“Heartfelt Thank You”
I wanted to express my deepest gratitude to my wonderful guide Ms. Keiko for making my trip unforgettable. You were amazing, your kindness and passion for sharing your culture made this experience very special. We visited Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine, and she pointed out the history of shrine and the iconic scenery surrounding it. You then took me to eat some Kobe Beef Katsu; it was so delicious. Thank you for recommending this place and sharing a meal with me. Afterwards we ended up on a boat on Lake Kawaguchi, the view was spectacular. Even more spectacular was earlier that day, the clouds were covering up Mt. Fuji and we couldn't see it but out of luck or divine intervention the clouds cleared up for about 30mins and we were able to get a clear view of Mt. Fuji. Your stories and explanations added so much depth to our trip. Thank you so much for being a great listener, what really touched me was your kindness and openness. I loved how I was able to share my thoughts and stories with you so easily. You made me feel very welcomed. I'll never forget the few phrases you taught me in Japanese! It helped me feel more connected with the culture. Thank you once again for being a wonderful person and for the wonderful experience. I hope our paths cross again someday and until then please know how grateful I am for all you shared with me. "Otsukaresama"

“If you’re a history buff, Grant’s your guy!”
Grant and I had trouble meeting up initially but eventually found each other. He took me to lots of great spots and provided an abundance of knowledge regarding the history of Japan. He was very kind and accommodating with my request to avoid seafood for lunch. He also worked in some shopping so I could find a specialty “made in Japan” item that was hard to get in the US. If you love history, take a tour with Grant!

“Great Last-Minute Guide”
Yoshi communicated well from the very beginning when I realized I would appreciate having someone to guide me. He was kind, easy to be with, and made meeting up convenient. I didn’t have much of an idea what I wanted to see, and the tour ended up different than I expected. I thought we’d see things around Tokyo and before I knew it we were headed on a train an hour each way to Mt Takao. It was beautiful there and I’m glad we did it but wished I’d been given a little more information on cost and time, as I might not have chosen to spend so much time this way. It got more expensive once his lift ticket, lunch, and train fares were included. I’d recommend Yoshi for sure! Just know what you want to do and have an itinerary in mind.
