Hello to all of you on the screen. My name is Toru Ishii and I am a licensed national interpretater of English language. I have been guiding scrolling around a Japanese landscape garden designated as Scenic Beauty in Yokohama city for the last 2 years. I would like to explain about time-honored Japanese architectures, transfered from Kyoto and Kamakura, designated as Important Cultural Property. I am also interested in Tea Ceremony and in the ritual of serving powdered green tea in the garden. Yokohama opened its door to overseas comers in 1859 after the Meiji Restoration. The port of Yokohama shared about 70 percents of overseas trading in Japan. The main export was raw silk thread. Now the beautiful city of Yokohama has become historically exotic and ranks as one of the most fascinating internationally trading city that attracts many foreign tourists. I am always happy to guide tourists around this historical region and Introduce the delights of Japanese cuisine and Chinese cuisine in China town according to the visitor's requests. Stepping further out from Yokohama, I would recommend Kamakura city, a 20 minutes train ride on the JR Line, where the visitor can feel the fresh ocean breeze. The nearby Zen Buddhist temples and the Great Buddha are main attractions and souvenir shopping adds the excitement. Kamakura was established by the first Shogun, Yoritomo Minamoto, in 1192 and the shogunate government lasted till 1333. He established his Samurai government which ruled over Japan. After arriving at Kamakura or Kita-Kamakura station, the visitor can easily walk around the city. This city is easily accesable by train from Yokohama (less than 30 minutes) and Tokyo (less than 1 hour). As for my background, I have experienced staying in Louisiana in the United States and studied at the university there. Now I am 60 years old and I am still working for a company, while at the same time, I work as a volunteer guide a few days a month in Yokohama city. I like traveling in foreign countries, and have experienced short time staying at several European countries, North America as well as some Asian countries. Last January, I travelled San Fransico and Merced city, California. I would be delighted to exchange cultural experience with many visitors from all over the world. Seeing craftsmen's work right in front of you makes you excited and impressed. My job experiences are only in the military, but there are variety of specialties, so I didn't feel boredom. I lived in many places all over Japan, such as Hokkaido 10years, Chiba 15years, Okinawa 8years and more places. 我在軍隊當陸軍士官過了大部分的生活。我的工作經驗只在軍隊內，但是它有很多兵種和工作，所以我沒有膩了。我住過日本各地的很多地方，例如北海道１０年，千葉縣１５年，沖繩16年還有別的有些地方。 I am working for the half of month as a tour-conductor in Okinawa Japan. Rest of month, I live in Nagasaki Prefecture, and work as a Triple Lights interpreter tour guide. 我一邊在沖繩當旅遊服務員大概半個月，一邊在九州長崎當Triple Lights的翻譯導游工作剩餘的月。 I am registered as a Okinawa prefectural interpreter tour guide (English & Chinese), but don't have a whole Japan area certification. So I am brushing my skill up to get it. 我登記了沖繩縣的地域翻譯導遊（英／中文），可是沒有全國的。所以為了獲得全國導遊資格，我正在繼續學外語。 I speak English, Chinese (simplify & traditional) , no problem to guide you, not like a native though. 我會說英語和中文(簡／繁)，作為您的導游沒問題，沒有母語的人那麼好。

Hi! I am Kazue. I am from Fukuoka and live in the central city. I spent almost 20 years traveling around the world as a cabin attendant. Meeting different people, different cultures and eating local food were best things in my career. This experience definitely widened my perspective and will help me in some way when I work as a guide. Since I spent half my life outside of Japan, I noticed our culture and traditions are very unique and became more interested in historical sites in Japan. For my personal life, I am a mom of twins. It is still a hard work but I am enjoying a lot with them. We take them around Kyushu whenever possible for their fun and experience. We all love traveling after all. I am looking forward to showing you around our hometown soon!

“This was our first time in Japan. Keiko made it memorable!”
Keiko was on time and prepared to greet us. She guided us through the Tsujiki seafood market, Imperial Palace, Meiji Jingu Shrine and Harajuku. She was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of history and explanation of the locations. It felt great to have a local take us around. Keiko organized the trip very well. It was a rainy day but we managed fine. My family of four used her for a second day. We went to Ueno Park, Sensoji Temple, Tokyo Skytree and Yanaka. Keiko set up a tea ceremony, per request, and it was delightful. The hosts were so welcoming and kind. Our experience with Keiko has been truly memorable. My kids miss her already!

The first day was a battle with the rain, so I was so very much wishing for a nice weather for the second day - and the result, YOU BROUGHT US THE SUN! “Excellent gentlemanly service ”
Hiru showed my family around Kyoto for a day. It was extremely hot and he tried his best to make the visit as easy as possible for us. We learnt several interesting facts on history, Buddhism, Shintoism and Kyoto itself. I would recommend fully this experience, the only thing I would say is that if you suffer from the heat or periods of standing and walking then this tour could be challenging for you to complete.

“Tokyo with kids! ”
No doubt one of the best decisions of the trip to spend some time with Dan on our first day in Tokyo. Dan is not a kid friendly guide, he IS a guide for kids. And while the parents are getting their share of “must see” in a well planned tour, the kids are in the center of attention. Dan”’s name was afterwards on our kids lips the whole time in Japan. They even refer to some of the streets we walked on as “Dan’s path”. The whole family had a great time and it is all thanks to Dan, his great personality and genuine interest in kids and people! Ps our kids are 9&11.
