Tokyo Tour Reviews

An Enjoyable Tour with a Knowledgeable Guide

We had a wonderful experience with Takeshi. I had sprained my foot and needed an extra day to rest, and he was very accommodating in rescheduling our tour. On the day itself, he met us promptly in our hotel lobby and walked us through the plan. Throughout the tour, he shared interesting insights about each location. His knowledge of Japanese history, religion, and daily life kept us engaged the entire time. He adjusted the pace to match our limitations and was flexible in tailoring the itinerary to our interests. As it was Golden Week and Skytree tickets were quite expensive, he suggested a great alternative spot where we could enjoy a lovely view of Tokyo for free, which we really appreciated. Takeshi’s English is excellent, and his international experience—including time working in the United States—comes through clearly. He is warm, personable, and professional. We were fortunate to have him as our guide and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a thoughtful and customized tour in Tokyo.

Great visit to Asakusa and tea ceremony with Chiaki

First, I want to emphasize how kind Chiaki is and the great tea ceremony experience that Chiaki took us to. It was the highlight of our afternoon in Asakusa. Chiaki did a great job translating for us everything related to the ceremony which was not a touristy spot but a very authentic place. On the other hand, in all honesty, I believe that tour guides in Japan could do a much better job talking about the areas visited, history of the area, cultural relevance, specially when you pay for a private tour guide. We hire tour guides to learn and not just to be chaperoned from one place to another with very little context. With google nowadays that kind of tour guide is not necessary. Definitely not a good value.

Chiaki K.

Dear Maria, thank you very much for your honest feedback and for your kind words about the tea ceremony experience. I’m truly pleased to hear that you enjoyed visiting such an authentic and special place. I also sincerely appreciate your constructive comments regarding the historical and cultural information shared during the tour. I understand your expectations for a private guide, and I’m sorry that I did not fully meet them on this occasion. Your feedback is valuable to me, and I will certainly reflect on it as I continue improving my tours so that guests receive what they expect. Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts. I wish you many wonderful travels ahead.

Perfectly organized and fun way to experience Tokyo

We were two couples and booked Leandra for two days in Tokyo, and it turned out to be a great decision. Tokyo is an incredible city where there is always something to see, and having Leandra with us made navigating it even more enjoyable. On the first day, she met us at our hotel, where we started with a relaxed coffee in the lobby and went through the plan together. For an early lunch, we chose MOS Burger for a quick change of pace after several days of travel. During the day, we visited a shrine and tried our luck again with fortune teller sticks – unfortunately still not the best predictions. We continued with a walk through the streets and visited a park where locals were enjoying picnics under the cherry blossoms, which was a really special atmosphere. In between, we also made a fun stop at a robot café, where we took a break while the robots sang and even danced a bit. She also guided us in choosing authentic Japanese kitchen knives, which turned out to be a great souvenir. Together we visited a cat café as well – while some played with the cats, others relaxed with a beer. Dinner was again local, among residents, which made the experience even more authentic. We ended the day at a unique karaoke place where guests don’t just sing but can also play instruments – a perfect and fun finish. On the second day, we explored part of the city on our own and met Leandra again in the evening. She showed us Tokyo by night, including the famous Shibuya Crossing, and took us for shabu-shabu – an excellent choice. Leandra was fantastic – fun, well-organized, and very flexible. We changed plans a few times, but she handled everything smoothly and made sure we saw as much as possible. Her restaurant choices and timing were spot on. We would definitely recommend her to anyone visiting Tokyo.
