We had the pleasure of spending three half-days with Dan during our family trip to Tokyo, and we cannot recommend him highly enough. Although he lives outside of Tokyo, he was punctual every single day and consistently went above and beyond to make our experience exceptional. Traveling with a 3-year-old can be unpredictable, but Dan was incredibly understanding, patient, and flexible. His kindness toward our son meant so much to us. He took the time to teach him Japanese words and phrases, engaged with him throughout our tours, and made him feel included every step of the way. Dan was also an invaluable resource when it came to navigating Tokyo. He helped us with translations, explained local customs, and shared fascinating insights into the city’s history, culture, and neighborhoods. One of our favorite parts of the experience was watching him interact naturally with local residents and then sharing those conversations and cultural nuances with us. We arrived with only a loose itinerary and trusted Dan to guide us. He expertly showed us many of Tokyo’s must-see highlights while also incorporating our personal interests and spontaneous requests along the way. Whether we wanted to stop somewhere unexpected or needed a break for our toddler, he was always accommodating and patient. What truly sets Dan apart is his combination of professionalism, knowledge, flexibility, and genuine care for his guests. He made exploring Tokyo feel effortless, personal, and enjoyable for our entire family. Whether you’re traveling with children or on your own, we wholeheartedly recommend Dan. His service was outstanding, and he played a huge part in making our Tokyo experience so memorable.

“Wonderful Guide for a Family”

Melody was a wonderful guide for our family. I highly recommend his services. We visited multiple sites and he provided the history of each one across several hundred years. He introduced us to Asakusa and Harajuku as well as providing us tips on how to navigate the subway and where to go for the fashion across age ranges. The group ages ranges from 11 to 76 and he was gracious with all.

Thank you for your wonderful review, Erin. We enjoyed an early lunch in Asakusa, where we ordered ramen, a Japanese bento box, and fried shrimp. The Japanese wine was also delicious! It was so much fun visiting Harajuku Takeshita Street and Meiji Shrine together as well. Your children were very honest, curious, and eager to learn about everything they saw in Japan. Your mother was also incredibly energetic and walked such a long distance with us. I’m sure this became one of your family’s best trips to Tokyo. I’m looking forward to seeing your family again someday!

“Wonderful Day”

We thoroughly enjoyed our day discovering "off the beaten path" Tokyo spots with Akira. Akira is knowledgable, personable, and an all around great guide. It was refreshing to be away from the Tokyo crowds. Akira took us to a traditional Japanese restaurant for lunch and a hidden coffee shop for some amazing pour over coffee. He catered our agenda to my friend's fish allergy. We walked a lot! Which was perfect for us. Thank you Akira!
