“Made a lifelong friend in Tokyo ”

I’m not even sure where to begin. Traveling to another country can be nerve racking. Feeling like you don’t belong and being unable to speak the local language can sometimes scare people away from visiting altogether. Luckily, my niece and I found Kota. As we searched for tours and guides, we knew we didn’t want a traditional tourist experience or a typical tour guide. What we wanted was a friend, someone who could show us the side of Japan that most tourists never get to see. Someone we could spend hours with and feel as though we had known for years. That is exactly what Kota delivered. From the moment we met him, Kota made us feel welcome. He created an itinerary tailored specifically to what we wanted to experience and took us to places where he said, “If I were out with my friends, this is where I would go.” Those hidden spots away from the main tourist areas and crowds were exactly what we had been hoping to find. We have spent almost two weeks traveling throughout Japan, and our day with Kota has been and will remain the highlight of our entire trip. Words truly cannot describe how much we appreciate everything he showed us or how genuinely we feel that we made a lifelong friend. It’s not a matter of if we return to Japan, but when and when we do, we will absolutely see Kota again. I already know it will feel like visiting someone we grew up with. Thank you again, Kota, for the unforgettable experience and the amazing time you shared with us. We’ll see you sooner rather than later!

To me, you were much more than just guests on a tour. The time we spent exploring Tokyo, talking, and laughing together is also a very special memory that I will never forget. “Had a blast! ”

Dai is a really cool and chill guy, which was great as a nervous solo traveller and put me at ease, so I feel much more confident getting around on my own now. He knows the city very well and was super accommodating, helping seek out local spots and hidden gems, telling me about Akihabara's history and showing me cool places. We enjoyed some fun activities like VR and merch & manga-hunting, where he was real helpful in speaking to staff and showing me what to do or translating instructions for me. I had an awesome time, it was like hanging out with an old friend for the day, comfortable to chat to and a totally relaxed day which suits me well. He also picked out a great place to eat and was considerate of dietary requirements without any difficulty. Thanks again for your help Dai, and thanks for making my first day trip in Tokyo a memorable one, hope we get to chill back in the UK one of these days! Arigatou gozaimasu!!

“Tomoko - 10/10 Experience in Tokyo”

I hired Tomoko to lead my parents on a guided day tour of Tokyo. From the start, Tomoko was very easy to communicate with and made sure that the day trip itinerary was perfectly suited to my parents physical abilities and general interests. After spending two weeks in Japan, my parents still say that their day with Tomoko was their favourite part of the trip. I would definitely hire Tomoko again!

Adam, thank you for the wonderful review. This is the 200th review I’ve received on this site—a real milestone! I’m so glad your parents enjoyed their two-week cruise and returned home safely. Since you love Japan and have visited several times yourself, I could tell from your very first inquiry how much you wanted your parents to enjoy Japan too. At first, I suggested a standard itinerary, but since you took the time to carefully explain each of your parents’ hobbies, interests, and their plans afterward—and considering it’s the hot season—I thought about how to plan the first day so they could really enjoy themselves. Anat’s idea to end the day by seeing the beautiful goldfish exhibition in Ginza was brilliant, and all three of us really enjoyed it.
