Then, let's take a walk downtown area to Fukagawa-Fudo temple which belongs to Shingon sect, one of the oldest, Esoteric Buddhism sect in Japan where we can experience Homa ritual.

The tour will end in Mitake Shrine and will head down using MitakeTozan Railway going to Mitake Station The course will be approximately 12km in total.

“The Perfect Stress-Free Start to Our Japan Journey”

Atsushi was the perfect guide for our very first day of touring in Japan. Navigating a new country can be daunting, but he was waiting for us in the lobby of our Yokohama hotel which immediately provided for a stress-free day. As we were headed to Kyoto at the end of the day he helped with our luggage storage at Yokohama station so we could travel 'unburdened' to Kamakura. His deep knowledge of the Samurai era and the history of the Great Buddha at Kotoku-in was fascinating. From historical insights to helping us navigate the Shinkansen gates and picking out the best "ekiben" for our train ride to Kyoto, Atsushi ensured our first day was seamless and memorable. We couldn't have asked for a better start to our trip!

Having just spent a week walking the pilgrimage trails through the mountains of the Kumano Kodo until yesterday, I felt a sense of peace guiding you around the familiar neighborhood near my home this afternoon.
