“An Unforgettable Father and Son Anime Adventure”

My son and I booked Grant’s Tokyo Anime Full-day Tour as part of a special father and son trip before he starts university, and it exceeded every expectation. Before the tour, Grant took the time to understand my son’s interests, particularly JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Berserk, and rare collectibles. Rather than following a generic itinerary, he tailored the entire day around what mattered to us. His knowledge of Tokyo’s anime scene was exceptional, from hidden Mandarake locations to specialist stores that we never would have found on our own. The highlight was watching my son discover rare figures and merchandise that he had been searching for. Grant was incredibly patient, helping us navigate stores, speaking with staff, and making sure we did not miss anything. Those moments alone made the trip worthwhile. Beyond anime, Grant shared fascinating insights into Japanese pop culture, Akihabara, and the collector community, giving us a much deeper appreciation of the culture behind the hobbies. He paced the day perfectly, balancing shopping, sightseeing, and breaks, and his English was excellent throughout. This was far more than a shopping tour. It became one of the defining memories of our trip to Japan. If you have children or teenagers who love anime or manga, I cannot recommend Grant highly enough. He is knowledgeable, thoughtful, flexible, and genuinely invested in making the day special. Thank you, Grant, for helping create memories that my son and I will treasure for many years to come. “Personalized Full Day Tokyo Tour ”

Tomoko was an exceptional guide and truly made our day in Tokyo unforgettable. Even with steady rain, she transformed the day into one of the highlights of our trip. From peaceful shrines and beautiful architecture to bustling food stalls, fascinating history, and delicious local treats, every stop felt thoughtfully chosen. Her warmth, knowledge, and sense of fun made every moment enjoyable, and she showed us a side of Tokyo we never would have discovered on our own. We left with full stomachs, great memories, and a deep appreciation for the city. Getting to know her better over a wonderful meal at the end of the day was truly a special way to end the tour. We wholeheartedly recommend Tomoko to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable Tokyo experience. You’ll have a lovely time! Hi Scott, Thank you for the heartwarming review—and for the lovely 'Haiku', too. Reading it brings back memories of the fun day I spent with you and Jose. When we got out of the taxi at Sakuradamon Gate near the Imperial Palace, it suddenly started pouring, and I wasn’t sure what to do, but seeing Jose enjoying the rain even without an umbrella really cheered me up :) You carefully shared with me your preferences and schedule in advance, and we planned the day together. Even though it rained, we were able to improvise where to go and how to get there on the spot, based on your interests and how much time we had, so it turned out to be a really fun day. It was also a memorable experience to enjoy fried pufferfish and sushi while sipping sake at a spot beloved by locals. I look forward to seeing you again. Tomoko

“Interesting Day in Kamakura”

This was our second trip with Yoshi, from Tokyo. For all 3 trips we did with him in Japan, his communications and coordination were excellent. Also, for all trips, he was very thoughtful and polite. For our trip to Kamakura, he met us in our hotel and escorted us for the hour-long train ride to the seaside town. The whole day was spent visiting temples - which is the only reason this is a 4-star review. Yoshi's service was 5-stars (as it was on all 3-days we met him) but the location of Kamakura was a bit limiting. If temples are not your thing, I'd suggest spending an extra day in Tokyo or even goign with Yoshi to Hakone, which have much more variety. That said, we had a good day and had a nice lunch at a small local restaurant that was tourist free. Also, we had a short stroll down a bustling shopping street. Overall, it was an interesting day and Yoshi was great but, if you want a bit more variety then go on one of Yoshi's other tours.
