Yokohama is a major port city, and the 2nd largest city in Japan. It is one of the most popular sightseeing spots for Japanese tourists as well. However, for non-Japanese guests who are to experience things unique to Japan, without a tour guide, it could not be so stimulating, - a beautiful harbor, traditional garden, fashionable shopping mall, which could be likely to appear not so different from Tokyo, or other Western or Asian port cities. Actually, Yokohama is very special for Japan ! Without Yokohama, Japan would not have been developed into what it is now! Would you find real attraction of Yokohama with me ? Although there are now many visitors from abroad, mainly from Asian countries, they are mostly interested in shopping taking advantage of cheaper yen rather than understanding our people and culture. Kyoto and Nara are the two cities best known by foreign tourists, but not all the aspects of Japanese culture are concentrated there. If you visit the countryside other than these two cities, you will never fail to see the beautiful natural surroundings and people who will warmly welcome you. “Great Day with Yoshi!”
We had a great day in Hakone and around Lake Ashi. We stayed in Hakone and Yoshi met us at the station. We bought the Hakone 2 day pass and went around Lake Ashi and up some cable cars to a few great areas. We had so much fun, Yoshi was a fantastic guide and took us to so many nice places and explained so much to us. He was friendly and his English was great. He knew the route well and made it seamless! We enjoyed every aspect! It was foggy on the day we went so we didn't see Mt Fuji, but we used our 2 day pass to do a similar route and managed to see it! Thank you so much Yoshi for planning out such a great day :) Overall this was a highlight of our trip- we loved Hakone and Yoshi!
