“Megacity day tour with Dai”
The thought of exploring Tokyo seemed quite daunting to my family and I. So, I decided to hire a local to help us. We had the pleasure of discovering Tokyo with our guide, Dai, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. Dai was incredibly knowledgeable and shared fascinating insights about the city’s history, culture, and hidden gems. Our tour included iconic spots like Shibuya Crossing, where Dai brought the energy and stories of the world’s busiest intersection to life, as well as Akihabara, where he explained the unique subcultures and guided us through the vibrant streets. What made the day so special was Dai’s warm personality and his ability to make the experience both fun and informative. He tailored the pace perfectly, answered all our questions, and gave us recommendations we wouldn’t have discovered on our own. If you’re looking for a guide who can combine expert knowledge with genuine hospitality, Dai is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!

“A unique place to visit!”
Our day in Kawagoe was great! This was our second tour with Kahoko (day 2 of 2). After touring Tokyo the previous day, Kawagoe was a breath of fresh air as it had less tourists, yet offered a unique and interesting perspective on the history in Kawagoe. We really enjoyed walking through the old warehouse district street lined with fire-resistant storehouses that were built for wealthy merchant families featuring thick walls and safety measures against intruders. These buildings stored the goods manufactured or traded through Kawagoe and now serve as shops and restaurants. Kahoko knew her way around and took us to little shops we would never think to visit. She was flexible for us to stop at anytime so we could buy a few souvenirs to include some tea cups from a pottery store that she recommended. It was a hot summer day, but that did not stop us from exploring and even taking a break to walk on a path of variety of differently shaped pebble stones, an interesting place to walk barefoot to stimulate the acupuncture points on the soles of your feet and hope for health benefits. Even Kahoko joined us to walk the path - we had so much fun and laughed a lot. (Don’t skip this pebble path experience, if you visit Kawagoe!) We ended the day with eating lunch at a Tonkatsu restaurant. It was located in the basement of a business building, which we would not find without Kahoko and let me say that this tiny restaurant is a hidden gem! The owners were welcoming and friendly to us and the food was one of the best meals we tasted in Japan! With Kahoko leading us and offering her recommendations on shops to visit and places to eat, we appreciated her going above and beyond to ensure we were happy and had a great day. Thank you so much, Kahoko! The barefoot walk and eating Tonkatsu was our favorite part of the day with you.

Thank you very much for another wonderful review!! With your words, I can clearly remember every moment with you in Kawagoe : that painful pebble path probably no more for me : an old and quiet hand-made book store with a sober clerk: a variety shop where we were finally able to find cloth coasters: and my favorite pottery store. Thanks to your tolerance, I was able to get something for myself. I knew it was not so professional. Also, there was amazing attitude about you. When I found a lunch place I chose was closed unexpectedly, I truly felt upset because the place had a perfect location on our tour route. Under the heat, I had to do find somewhere else making you standing in a terribly hot and crowded street. I was worried sorry for that but you were really patient and cooperative and even gave me kind words. I was saved and impressed with you! That's why that tonkatsu tasted even better for me after that. The old owner chef and his wife were kind and attentive. You gave me another chance to find a good place for lunch. As you imagined, I didn't need dinner on the day. In the end, you gave me a great surprise, nice presents. My family enjoyed tasty sweets, and your photo is hung up on my wall. The bag will be with my next trip to Europe. Thank you very much for your all the kindness. Please come back to Tokyo again !! I'm here waiting for you!
