“Unearthing the past in Mexico City”

One of the biggest museums in Mexico City, the Anthropology Museum is a class in itself. Pablo, our guide ( Roberto's sub since he missed his flight back to Mexico city) took us through the history Of Mexico city spanning over 700 years of history, starting from an ancient Aztec island settlement into a massive global metropolis. The artifacts from the Aztec empire (CE 1400) through the Spanish rule(1521-19tth century) in almost two floors of the museum was very captivating and Pablo did a great job in walking us through these two eras without loosing our attention. A detailed visit to the museum would take at least two to three days, but Pablo did an excellent job in two hours to wet our interest. He is a good historian, and very pleasant gentleman. Later walked to the nearby Chapultepec Castle, built on top of a hill offering spectacular 360 view of Mexico city. It was built. starting from late 18th century to mid 19th century. We had a new guide Jesus Duran ( sub for Roberto) another good historian, and humorous who took us around the castle and walked us thro the history of the palace. Again, he gave us a thumb nail view of the history without getting into the minuets, enough to peak our interest in the city's history, The castle was constructed by the Spanish for their viceroys, later by the Mexican Emperors and finally by the Mexican president after independence. Jesus was very fluent in English as well as Pablo. In all, we had two good guides with a store of information bound to delight their visitors

Dos días inolvidables con Rania R. El primero lo dedicamos a las pirámides de Giza, Saqqara y Dahshur y el segundo al Gran Museo Egipcio, unas visitas completas y muy bien organizadas. Nuestra guía, Rania R., fue excepcional: profesional, atenta y con un conocimiento enorme de la historia. Además, es una gran amante de los animales, y eso se notaba en cada momento. Nos sentimos súper cuidados con ella. Viaja con su propio chófer y organizó los tiempos de las visitas de forma impecable: sin prisas, sin esperas y con todo previsto. Un trato cercano y humano que marcó la diferencia. La recomiendo totalmente a cualquiera que quiera conocer Egipto de verdad. Rania R. has conseguido que ese viaje soñado se haga realidad.
