“Excellent guide for our first day in Kyoto”

Kaori is an outstanding guide. She communicated really well ahead of the tour, keeping us informed of weather conditions and willing to adjust time to avoid rain (we ended up starting earlier than planned). She was very attentive and willing to adjust the pace for our 9yo. She was also knowledgeable and kept the tour very interesting. Her English is very good. “Tak Knows Hospitality!”

Tak showed remarkable hospitality. From the moment we communicated online to the end of the tour, he always made sure I was comfortable with the tour, the timing and even offered advice about my other activities in Tokyo. Upon meeting, he came bearing a sweet little gift for me! The highlight of the tour was Hagoita-Ichi (Decorative Paddle Fair) at the Senso-ji Temple grounds where we shared some Takoyaki. Or maybe the highlight was the end of the tour downing a well-earned beer after all the walking, talking and subway riding. Tak knows and loves his Asakusa neighbourhood and it shows! I loved that the tours involved lots of walking and taking the subway. It really helped me figure out where things were and gave us a chance to learn more about each other. The standout for me was going into the fabric district to purchase some Japanese designed fabric for one-of-a-kind souvenirs (I’m going to frame them). She helped me find some stunning samples. The quiet moment in the Japanese garden was wonderful. I will definitely book time with Chiaki when I return to Tokyo.
