“Fantastic Tours with Koichi”

Koichi is the best! We had two custom day tours with Koichi as a group of 7, one of Kyoto and the other Nara and Osaka. He is very kind, funny and good with kids. He has a lot of historical knowledge of the famous sites, brought along printed materials to show us to help us understand the history and culture of the various locations. He was very well prepared!! Our kids under 10 enjoyed his company and were not afraid to ask him many questions. I felt like he went the extra mile to accommodate our requests and the many many toilet stops for the kids. I would not hesitate to recommend Koichi to all our friends and family visiting Kyoto or Osaka. 10 out of 10!

Even the popular spots felt calm and meaningful because of the way she timed and guided our visit. Beyond her incredible knowledge of Kyoto’s history, culture, and temples, Michiko helped us understand how to move through Japanese society with respect. I had unintentionally offended someone the day before, and her gentle advice made me feel more confident and comfortable for the rest of the trip. That alone was invaluable. She also organised a meal at a wonderfully authentic local restaurant — the kind of place you simply wouldn’t discover without a true insider. It became one of the most memorable dining experiences of our entire holiday, something we’ll never forget and could never replicate on our own. In short: our day with Michiko was pure magic. We learned so much, laughed a lot, and felt deeply connected to Kyoto in a way that wouldn’t have been possible without her. If you’re visiting Kyoto and want a guide who is kind, insightful, organised, and genuinely passionate about sharing her culture, Michiko is the one. We couldn’t recommend her more highly.

Ritsuko is an absolute pro. On the fly she created a tour of Tokyo that was precisely what we wanted. She kept each of our group engaged as we walked and traveled, chatting the whole time, giving us local insights and background. We ate together, had coffee and it was a highlight of the trip.
