“Unique and Interesting Literature Tour in Mitaka”

Excellent tour about Dazai Osamu, one of Japan’s most celebrated authors, and his life in Mitaka. Ryoko-san was professional, prepared, and a pleasure to talk to. As most explanations about Dazai were in Japanese, Ryoko-san was very helpful and patient in translating them and explaining their significance. Highlights include a recreation of Dazai’s writing room, a coffee shop/library dedicated to his works, as well as his final resting place. Highly recommended tour for fans of Japanese literature and for those who want to see a different and quieter side of Japan.
