“Beyond Sightseeing: Experiencing Tokyo with Akira ”

We had the most wonderful experience with Akira, our guide on Monday, 8th of September. What made the day truly special was how much we learned. He patiently explained the rituals at temples and shrines like how to cleanse our hands, how to bow, and the proper way to offer prayers. These are things we would never have understood just by reading signs or guidebooks, and they gave so much more meaning to each place we visited. He also introduced us to the everyday side of Tokyo that we would have completely missed without him. We enjoyed a meal at a tiny local restaurant we never would have found by ourselves, and even stopped at a neighborhood fruit shop where we tried the juiciest Japanese pear. It felt like such a genuine slice of local life. Beyond his knowledge, he was warm, thoughtful, and made sure every moment felt personal and enjoyable. Thanks to him, we didn’t just see a part of Tokyo — we experienced it more deeply. We are so grateful for this unforgettable day and cannot recommend him highly enough!
