We thoroughly enjoyed the tour with Robert. Thanks to his Japanese studies, he had far more knowledge than other local guides we booked on our trip to Japan. The tour offered a great mix of experiences, often taking us off the beaten path (a quiet Japanese garden, small temples, markets, and specialized shops selling things like fans). It was excellent, stress-free, and provided great insights into the country and its people! Note: For tourist hotspots like Kyoto Castle, the Imperial Palace, and the Thousand Gates, you should definitely plan a separate day in Kyoto. However, it's manageable, as there are plenty of signs with explanations.

We visited several matcha and green tea shops, and I was even able to purchase the famous Hoshino matcha, which is known for being very difficult to find. In addition, Kazue-san took the time to ask the shop owners about the background of their matcha, the history of their businesses, and other interesting details, then translated everything for me. I learned so much throughout the tour. I highly recommend Kazue-san to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and dedicated guide.
