I had only one day to see Beijing, and John made sure I experienced everything I hoped for. He was responsive from the start, even updating me on the Great Wall weather the day before so I could plan with confidence. John arrived on time with a comfortable, air‑conditioned car stocked with water—perfect for the heat. He guided me through the Great Wall and the Forbidden City, navigating crowds smoothly and giving me plenty of free time. When the heat became overwhelming, he adjusted the plan and showed me more of the city by car, from historic areas to modern neighborhoods. He also went far beyond what I expected from a guide. When my Alipay failed during a small purchase, he paid for me without hesitation. Later, back at my hotel lobby, he helped me set up WeChat Pay so I’d have a reliable backup for the rest of my trip. At the end of the day, when he learned my dinner reservation was far from my hotel, he even drove me there on his way home—over an hour out of his way.
